I posted this note on my talk page, but I wasn't sure you'd check there, so I'm posting here as well. I'm an outsider who is spending a few weeks this winter in Basin, just down the road from Boulder. Knowing that I'd be visiting, I checked the Wikipedia articles about this area before I made my trip. Now that I'm here, I've been able to take photos of Basin Grade School and the Jefferson County Courthouse and upload them to the Commons, and I might find some other suitable subjects here for encyclopedia photos. I've been able to find quite a bit of text information on-line, as you've seen, but I'd like to add more about the history of both towns. Can you recommend any specific books or other sources of information about Basin or Boulder? I'd be most grateful for any advice you might give. Finetooth (talk) 21:44, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Project news Hello all! Time for the next installment of the WikiProject Guitarists newsletter. I recently went through and trimmed the member list again to remove inactive participants. I haven't been too active recently because I'm finishing a Master's degree but I'll have some more free time coming up. I will probably spend some time cleaning up equipment articles since many of them read like adverts or contain no useful information. We have a lot of great people working on the project, including professional guitarists and even luthiers. We have the potential to write a lot of great articles. Boulder and Basin

Hi and thanks for the return note about Boulder. The bit about Boulder being the territorial capital for one day is intriguing, and I'll see if I can track the story down in a source I can cite. It's surprising how much information is available. I spent much more time on the Basin, Montana, article than I did on Boulder, and it passed its Good Article review last week. The library in Boulder has quite a bit of information, but the historical society in Helena is probably the great gold mine for obscure facts. Good luck with all of your pursuits. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
