Thanks for copyedit but there were a few places where you changed the meaning
[edit]Hello JML1148,
You said feedback is welcome so here is a little.
You smoothed some of my writing.
But in https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Electricity_sector_in_Turkey&type=revision&diff=1088869262&oldid=1088831348 I put back in some meaning and links that you had removed or changed, perhaps accidentally. For example Shura is not proposing to get all diesel trucks off the road - just old ones, 45% is all industry not just major industry, "half as much" is very different from "half as much again", "electricity" is only part of "energy" so the proportion is important enough to be in the lead.
I don't expect copyeditors to be subject experts but if you don't understand something it is likely the general reader will also be confused (many people confuse electricity and energy I suspect) so I would rather you asked (for example by tagging "clarify") than guessed. In that way rather than just changing some things back to the previous, as I did in the above edit, I could perhaps rewrite the confusing bit by making it longer if I understood how it confused you as a general reader.
Anyway now I have reverted a bit it is better than before you started so thanks for your work.

accusation without citing source
[edit]You just accused me of writing something without citing sources, you didn't mention which article you were talking about so i'm unable to tell which article i need to add sources for 180.150.38.159 (talk) 00:22, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
180.150.38.159 I forgot to mention which article, it was Earth and Water, specifically the phrase, 'This obviously did not work out great for the Greeks'. JML1148 (talk) 00:47, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

- I have no problem with any other edits: they have been handled by other editors. Because the phrase could be challenged (as it could be interpreted as an opinion) it must be cited: please read Wikipedia:Citing sources. JML1148 (talk) 06:55, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Rollback
[edit]Hi JML1148. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Pending changes reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi JML1148. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:21, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
re- article
[edit]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Knightmare_3112#Katherine_Deves_rating%3F
Very close - but...
The article is just too general in the info box, lead sentence and lead paragraph.
Always better to contextualise - where in oz, in the info box as well - clarify place of birth, living and if you are about to do NPP - one constant issue is the lack of specific where? in many articles. The separation of a clarifying lead sentence and lead para is the difference between articles of quality and acceptability and those that dont always get there, so to speak.JarrahTree 10:53, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
- @JarrahTree: Are you intending this for Knightmare 3112 or me? I asked them why he rated it that way, and they only responded with the fact that it was short. Anyway, I will try to make those fixes, however I couldn't find anything reliable about birth date besides her age. Thanks, JML1148 (Talk | Contribs) 11:43, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
- I can see why you are asking, I was thinking you were working more on the article... I think sydney/nsw/ could be in the info box and the lead - so dont worry about birth date that much. I had gone to knightmare's talk page to thank for a lot of tasmanian material edits - but hey, the suggestion is offered, no big deal - I had gone to look at compatriots articles - all very similar, with not very clear lead sentences or paragraphs, maybe its a fashion in australian politicians articles that I have missed somehow... Kerala articles
[edit]@JML1148 thanks for your ongoing copy edit support to the article Religious education in Kerala . One of the clarification sought by you is '.. What is 'tenth standard'? ..' in sentence ".. Nambudiri says Vidyapeedam admits only ten tenth standard passed boys ..' . Here, in context of South Asia, it means Secondary School Certificate i.e. successful completions 10 years of formal school education. (Pre primary education is not counted).
Your other queries are about role of Buddhism in Kerala education and I will need to seek help from other Kerala users for that and it may take some time.
Meanwhile, you being experienced editor, I am looking for, requesting, some more help, if you can support in improving one more Kerala article Draft:Ex-Muslim activism in Kerala as and when time would permit you.
Thanks and warm regards
Bookku (talk) 09:03, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Bookku:I have made those changes by linking the related article (Secondary School Certificate) to it, making it clear to readers if they want to know what the article is referring to. I may have a look at your draft article if I have time, in the meantime, I can notice that your draft has too many 'According to' sentences, which in some cases are not needed. Trying to add more facts to the draft rather than people's opinions is my main piece of advice here. Thanks, JML1148 (Talk | Contribs) 09:22, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Just for info
[edit]@ the article Religious education in Kerala I removed 1 draft stage sentence (relating to coeducation) for which having one more source providing more context about student age would have been helpful.
If we do not mention, some moderates may say you take note of gender segregation controversy but do not mention side of one coeducational school. And if we provide info still some conservatives may have objection saying your (Wikipedia) article does not provide age of students in co education. In that context I preferred to have one more source which would have provided more context to coeducational school. As of now I have removed the sentence.
I will look into other clarification points by referring to the cited book as I get free and focus on. Many thanks for your copy edit support to the article.
Bookku (talk) 10:07, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Bookku: If it is not properly sourced, you do not need to mention it. Don't let politics get into Wikipedia, honestly, the age of girls does not matter. JML1148 (Talk | Contribs) 11:11, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- The source seems reliable still seems to have few discrepancies. For example '.. had madrasas affiliated with the board, including 9636 lower primary, .." This discrepancy is in the source itself.
- The source says 'Madrasa is co educational' in single sentence statement. Even with relative reliability of the source I would prefer one more corroboration source. It is not about we getting political but about we being careful enough while weighing the sources. So in any case I removed the sentence to be on more careful side as of now. We can add info about co education after confirming with other sources and other Malayalam Wikipedians.
- Pl. let me know how to handle 9636 figure discrepancy which is there in the source itself.
- Thanks for your valuable inputs. Bookku (talk) 11:26, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
Staff
[edit]You sought clarification on 'boards own staff' composition sentence. 'boards own staff' means they are not the staff of the affiliate Madrasas.
Source is not clear about location of 141 staff members (my guess: likely to be headquarter and branch offices if any) , simply mentions as ".. 141 officials employed under the board ..".
Teachers of affiliate Madrasas are paid by local village communities; but 141 officials are likely to be paid by the board. Source also mentions some pension being paid to the retired teachers by the board but source is not clear enough so pension related info is avoided in our article.
