TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Thanks for blocking me. I now know that Big Brother (in the persons of 'Vianello' and 'Alfie') is watching. I have no idea on how to go about explaining my edits (or to whom), so I won't bother. My respect for Wikipedia has just crashed. It is obviously a forum to perpetuate silly propagandist formulae, by self-righteous know-nothings!
ADDENDUM -- 18 September 2010 -- 16:33 EDT
The author(s) of the articles on German WWII soldiers are engaging in the most scurrilous attacks on the integrity of these patriots. The German heroes who are described did NOT fight for Hitler or the NS-Party. They fought, bled, and died for "Volk und VaterlandItalic text" and full honor is their due. Wikipedia is abetting the vilest type of anti-German propaganda --- AND exercising censorship, to boot.
FYI --- There has NEVER been a country named "Nazi Germany" (or "Weimar Republic" for that matter) --- only one named "Deutschland" (with some variations based on prevailing political winds).
FYI (more) --- By allowing the egregious propagation of spurious 'facts,' Wikipedia is complicit in the degradation of our information system through manipulation of 'words.' Even one false word introduced into a sentence or a paragraph discredits the ENTIRE statement or argument.
I will never again make any contribution to Wikipedia (I had made two, apparently uncontroversial and not challenged) and will henceforth focus on Google for my informational excursions.
Wikipedia's 'watchdogs' and enforcers should be ashamed of themselves.
- Or you could, perhaps, discuss changes rather than edit warring, like the temporary block notification suggested you would be able to continue to edit freely by doing. But I suppose that is more time-consuming than getting sanctimonious about it, it's true. See also: WP:The Truth. If by chance you want to make another monologue, you might also want to check out the article on "Fallacy of composition" so as not to repeat some of your logical pitfalls. But, if you're more interested in in trying to wrangle in your stance by "force", I think we'll manage quite well (and without shame) without your contributions. - Vianello (Talk) 00:48, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

22 July 2011 (request to unblock --- don’t know if I did it right) I objected to derogatory characterization of ALL German WW II soldiers as "Nazis" --- an offensive act by authors who know not what they do. Since there is no Editorial Board (a grievous omission), I have/had no way to address this systematic insult to German soldiers who (like normal patriots) fought for "Volk und Vaterland." I do not regret what I did (remove the "Nazi" from the 'allegiance') --- and this whole disgusting episode is sticking in my craw. FYI --- there has NEVER been a country named "Nazi Germany" --- or "Weimar Republic" --- only "Deutsches Reich" (1871--1945) or Deutschland (Germany) for short. If you want to continue to wallow in your benighted condition, be my guest. Even if you restore my editing privileges (I had made two previous--unchallenged--contributions) I will not participate in, or promote, Wikipedia until these insults to one of the best Armed Forces on the planet cease. The ball is in your court. Juergen K. Greineder, MD, MBA (born in the Reichshauptstadt Berlin)
