Information icon Hello, I'm Jax 0677. I noticed that you recently removed content from Forest High School shooting without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. --Jax 0677 (talk) 21:13, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Samf4u. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Slinky— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk or my talk page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tha Dogg Pound, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bad Azz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:23, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Engr. Smitty. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mike Furber, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Engr. Smitty Werben 14:49, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a citation. @Engr. Smitty: JJULE (talk) 15:17, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

More on Mike Furber

[edit]

Hello, I'm shaidar cuebiyar. I've struggled with Mike Furber's year of birth for a long time. Numerous sources say he was born in 1948 and he died in 1973 at age 25. However some things didn't add up. The source that I used to change his year of birth from 1948 to 1945 is "Music Man's Long Journey" by Alan Howe of The Herald Sun. Howe interviews Furber's friends and a family member and they confirm he would have had his 60th birthday on the day before the article was printed. A memorial at the site of his scattered ashes is shown.

The source you used to change it back, Biographies.net, has user-generated content per "Become an Editor" on their website. Anyone can go on there, like on wikipedia, and change the content. The current edit of the Biographies.net entry is dated to July 2013. Such sources are not as reliable as respected newspapers with editorial oversight.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 21:47, 11 December 2020 (UTC)shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:27, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The saga continues, a closer look at Howe's article (linked above) shows that it is actually undated. However an archive copy exists from December 2007. Paul Culnane at "Mike Furber" on the Milesago website, writes in 2007, "A recent Melbourne newspaper article commemorating Mike's 60th birthday reported that his family and friends (such as musician Bob Daisley) still believe that Mike was murdered, and refute claims that he killed himself." However that website also has his birth year as 1948: it doesn't add up.
Until a better source comes along, I'm changing it (again!) to 1947, which now agrees with his age at death.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:11, 13 December 2020 (UTC)01:13, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
