Thanks so much for the very timely catch & revert! Haploidavey (talk) 02:17, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for setting up semi protection for this page but it doesn't seem to be working - the anon IP is back at it again. I've been here 4 years and i've never seen such persistence...guess I've been lucky. --Wtshymanski (talk) 03:36, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm dazed and confused - Winnipeg Folk Festival is fine, but Birds Hill Provincial Park is getting hit now. --Wtshymanski (talk)
- Hello again. Within hours of the semi-protection expiring, the thunder Bay IP again added the long story.

Semi-protected for a period of 1 month. After 1 month the page will be automatically unprotected. --JForget 02:34, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Comments needed
You are receiving this message because you are listed as an active participant in WikiProject Meteorology, WikiProject Severe weather, and/or WikiProject Non-tropical storms. I have made a proposal to start an official assessment page for these three projects, under the WP:METEO banner. Since this would need significant participation to work properly, I'd like input from as many interested parties as possible (even those who may not watch the project pages), so please visit the discussion here and leave your thoughts/opinions. Thanks! -RunningOnBrains 02:31, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Proposed new policy
As a recent contributor to Deaths in 2009, you may be able to help decide on a proposed new policy. It is proposed that:
- A month should be deleted from the "Deaths in [CURRENT YEAR]" page ONE WEEK after the month ends.
Please opine at Talk:Deaths_in_2009#Proposed new policy. Don't just say
- Support.
or
- Oppose.
Also state your reasons and participate in the discussion. Michael Hardy (talk) 16:41, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Quebec provincial electoral districts
Greetings from Pincourt, Quebec.
Two items regarding the subject:
1) I have moved several pages to better clarify the articles (eg: "Abitibi-Est" was moved to "Abitibi-Est (Quebec provincial electoral district)". As I was unable to find info on this issue, and also due to the fact that many of the existing articles of this nature Category:Quebec provincial electoral districts all have varying names, do you see any reason why I shouldn't go there?
2) Although I cleaned all double-direct links after moving files, there remain links to all other provincial ridings because of template QC-ED, which was also cleaned up. Do Wiki bots eventually recognize this and sever the old links? I sure hope I didn't screw anything up!
Thanks in advance Gordalmighty (talk) 20:22, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've being less active lately but as far as I know when there is no other articles with the same name such (as for exemple Abitibi-Est) the title is kept with the mention (electoral district). When I had started some of the articles, most of them I started with the (provincial electoral district) mentionned in the title though I think it was User:Earl Andrew who made some of the fixes afterwards as some of them had no other articles with the same name.
- Anyways, Should there be a new Abitibi-Est federal electoral riding or a city called/renamed Abitibi-Est then the provincial riding would have to have the (electoral district) or (provincial electoral district) added - in the case of provincial electoral district it is if a federal riding exist (that one would have the electoral district) designated as for highest political level). Normally, Abitibi-Est should have stayed the way it was before the changes. JForget 16:28, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- As for the second question, it might but it might take a while, unless someone makes a bot specifically for those riding articles. I don't track a lot the bots operations, but some do repair disambiguation links (i.e Russbot is one of them I beleive) but seems they are doing it one name at a time and since there are many many articles and many links that require repairs, it might take a lot of them. Though I don't think there is a wackload of pages that are linked to any of the ridings article. By clicking the What links here option in the toolbox, you will find the list of articles that are linked to it. I haven't tried but I think you can also repair links via the popups as well. Never done that just yet though.--JForget 16:34, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
