―Qwerfjkltalk 12:17, 18 July 2021 (UTC)Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, JDRL Koala. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Juliette Leong, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GPL93 (talk) 01:52, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- @JDRL Koala: please do not edit this article directly until you make a disclosure. You essentially re-added all of the promotional language that you removed after AngusWOOF rejected the article upon Qwerfjkl accepting the draft. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:30, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GPL93: @GPL93: I am not related to the subject. Juliette is not a family or friend or colleague. I saw her singing the national anthem in Reno and looked her up and found out that she is also an artist and donates the money to nonprofits. I'm making edits to other incredible people as well. I also have a couple other articles that I am drafting, also not related to me in any way. Sorry for the late reply. I was trying to figure out how to response in (talk). Thanks. JDRL Koala (talk) 21:59, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- @JDRL Koala: except that you uploaded a photo of the subject that was clearly taken in person and tagged it as an "own work" and your edits have been overly promotional towards the subject. Best, GPL93 (talk) 22:36, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GPL93: I (and a bunch of other people) took pictures of Juliette when she performed in Reno. But, understood, I will be careful on the tone and wording (for other articles as well). Thanks. JDRL Koala (talk) 22:44, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
July 2021
[edit]Hi JDRL Koala! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Blocked for sockpuppetry
[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Mz7 (talk) 21:16, 27 July 2021 (UTC)The article Juliette Leong has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG, probably WP:TOOSOON as well. Most sources are not reliable and those that are appear to be a few local news stories. The article was created by a likely WP:COI/WP:UPE editor, who has now been blocked for sockpuppetry.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GPL93 (talk) 22:45, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
