Waffle House shooting
[edit]You've repeatedly [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] added "Bushmaster XM-15" to this article without providing a source that specifically names the weapon as an XM-15. If you disagree with the editors who have reverted you, please discuss it on the article's talk page. Your repeated edits are beginning to be disruptive. –dlthewave ☎ 15:35, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Tree of Life synagogue shooting. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 16:19, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Tree of Life synagogue shooting. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 16:55, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
FINAL NOTICE: Unsourced edits
[edit]This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 173.209.178.244 (talk) 20:41, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
You are ASKING for a block
[edit]What exactly is your problem? If you don't understand the requirement to document your edits with reliable sources, then thoroughly read WP:V and WP:RS. If you don't know how to cite a source, read WP:CITE. If there's something else you don't understand, ask here before you make another edit. Maybe you don't actually believe you will be blocked from editing. Maybe you think the rules don't apply to you. Whatever the reason, the string of warnings above is more than sufficient evidence for you to be blocked right now. So if you would like to continue editing, read the policies and ask questions. Because the very next time you make an unsourced edit you will be blocked. Not the next two times. The next time. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 02:03, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Source
[edit]Why did you not provide a source for this edit? I expect an answer before your next edit. Answer the question and there's a chance you can avoid a block. It might help the rest of us understand whether you are confused, or incomeptent, or simply don't care. Ignore the question like you have ignored all the warnings above, an that will be the final straw; use the time of your block to think about why you are editing here. Are you editing to improve Wikipedia, or do you think you WP:OWN the articles that you edit? 75.182.115.183 (talk) 16:36, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in governmental regulation of firearm ownership; the social, historical and political context of such regulation; and the people and organizations associated with these issues. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
Please be aware that the AR-15 style rifle page is subject to enhanced restrictions that include a 1RR restriction. Springee (talk) 00:01, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Im sorry for not adding sources. I try to improve Wikipedia, but since i’m new to this and still trying to get the hang of adding sources, they never work so i leave them off JBW95 (talk) 02:58, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- "They never work so I leave them off.": After editing for nine months and getting all the warnings above, that is the same as saying, "I don't want to learn how to source because I'm too lazy." Wikipedia is a collaborative project. If you're not willing to try to ask questions and learn, and you're not willing to discuss you problem edits, this is not the place for you. You're no longer a newcomer. Start by reading WP:5P. Then go to CAT:CONTENT, click each of the blue links, and read each policy before continuing to edit. If you're too lazy to do that, then stop editing. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 02:52, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Baldwin High School (Pennsylvania). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 04:16, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Reminder
[edit]I see you've been notified of the DS applied to AR-15 style rifle. To explain, though I'll only do this once, with this specific article, there are a special subset of restrictions that are being applied. These are in order 1) Consensus required, 2) 1 revert rule, and 3) Civility required. The first restriction is the relevant one here. Any edit that has been challenged by reversion, may not be reinstated without a talk page acquired consensus. The DS can be enforced by any admin without warning, provided that the person being subjected to enforcement has been appropriate notified of the DS. You have been notified, and I'm now giving you a reminder. Take your argument for inclusion to the talk page. Thanks, Mr rnddude (talk) 19:37, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Baldwin High School (Pennsylvania). Edit warring is not only WP:3RR. You've got only one route to successfully add the name to the above article you've had REPEATEDLY reverted. Write his bio so that it will stay in the encyclopedia. It is irrelevant if his name has been mentioned in every single newspaper on the planet and on every TV and radio station in existence in connection with the shooting. If there are not sources about him that discuss him in detail in a context unrelated to the shooting, he is NOT NOTABLE per WP:BLP1E. Your failure to understand that or your unwillingness to abide by it, along with the multiple other issues others are having with you, have reached a level where your competency is in question. Continuing on the path you are on will inevitably lead to you being brought before the community to discuss your competency at a noticeboard. Please don't take it there. John from Idegon (talk) 23:29, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Nikola Motor Company. 173.209.178.244 (talk) 00:23, 7 November 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Liz. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Incel, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. [edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at 2023 Covenant School shooting, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. WP:NEWSWEEK is not reliable. Do not change the weapons without citing a reliable source. Even then, you should propose it on the talk page first as this has gone back and forth enough. ––FormalDude (talk) 02:55, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at 2023 Covenant School shooting, you may be blocked from editing. ––FormalDude (talk) 00:13, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2023 Covenant School shooting. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sideswipe9th (talk) 00:15, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to governmental regulation of firearm ownership; the social, historical and political context of such regulation; and the people and organizations associated with these issues, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

CS1 error on 2023 Michigan State University shooting
[edit]Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page 2023 Michigan State University shooting, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:
- A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 22:34, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
Please use edit summaries
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to 2023 Lewiston shootings did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button.
