- Hear, hear. You say in the comment "I would request you leave this response on your page for the enjoyment of others"; I hope he leaves it too, as it does make one of the people involved in the exchange look rather foolish, and it's not Viewfinder. — ras52 (talk) 23:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Good lord ...
[edit]Re:
Please see WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. Thanks! Gscshoyru (talk) 23:07, 26 November 2007 (UTC) (It would seem I've been "cautioned" by the WikiCops for the comment I left to an editor regarding removal of a small contribution I made to the article on (good lord ... of all things ... the Matterhorn)).
I quote you ras52, regarding the above notice left on MY talk page, and directed at ME:
"Hear, hear. You say in the comment "I would request you leave this response on your page for the enjoyment of others"; I hope he leaves it too, as it does make one of the people involved in the exchange look rather foolish, and it's not .... — ras52 (talk) 23:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC).
First ... I'll leave out the original editor's identity as I wish to focus on the subject at hand, your comment. Second ... who asked for your opinion on my character ... foolish or otherwise? A strange paradox applauding the critique of the self-same activity the sly comment you left for me engages in with respect to me. I believe its called ... well I'm sure you know what it's called.
I hope you do not think it is "foolish" to support copyright and the rights to intellectual property (I'm fond of these ideas, while others might not be to their own detriment), as I also mentioned these issues in my "talk", along with my satirical critique of why one particular humorous reference to mountaineering (inspired I'm sure by the two men with the same name being among the first to scale the Matterhorn) was arbitrarily removed by an editor who would seem perhaps a bit too close to the subject matter (and I note a few others have questioned his/her removal of their contibutions ... I am not the first. But I digress). I came to the article neither to dispute facts nor flaunt knowledge, but only to add some humour to the subject. I had no idea it was so serious; that Bugs Bunny is in the canon of humourous mountaineering references, but Monty Python is not. Perhaps I offended someone here by mentioning Monty Python in the same breath as the Matterhorn.
I note you share many common interests with the previous editor (who, again, I will no longer involve by handle in this discussion). In your Editor User page you say that, "I'm sure that most editors have particular issues to which they are strongly emotionally attached — I know I do — however, most editors are capable of recognising this and refrain from editing in that area." Sage advice indeed.
Now then ... enough ...

Hi, you recently uploaded Image:JohnDHuston.jpg to Wikipedia and used it in the article "Underneath the Lintel". You licensed the image to Wikipedia under the CC-BY-3.0 licence. Can I confirm that you're the copyright owner of this image? If so, I can transfer it to the Wikimedia Commons so that it can be used by other Wikipedia projects as well.
Also, the information that you inserted about the 2007 Fringe Festival of Toronto's production of the play has not been referenced. Could you add a citation? Thanks. If you'd like to discuss the matter further, let's do so on the article's talk page. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 13:59, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I hope you've got "Underneath the Lintel" on your watchlist, as I've replied to your message there. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 21:25, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:Bell-X-22-Tilt-Fan(thumb).jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Bell-X-22-Tilt-Fan(thumb).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Bell-X-22-Tilt-Fan(thumb).jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
