Multiseat desktop virtualization

I have added two products to the Multiseat desktop virtualization category. I don't see an article on Fiddlehead, and that is the reason I linked to the website. I tried to start an article on Fiddlehead, but someone deleted it. I went to nComputing, and Wyse, and several other companies that have not been deleted, and built the Fiddlehead article so that it met the same basic structure of those articles. I assumed that would prevent deletion, but no luck. It was still deleted. The Multiseat desktop virtualization category is pertinent to technology, I believe. The two products that I added to that category, Userful and Multiseat configuration aren't really relevant to that category as they don't use virtualization but there are no other products out there that are even close. I assume you deleted Fiddlehead because it was the only product in that category. Hopefully that change will help. If you can give me any advice regarding writing an article about Fiddlehead that won't get it deleted, I would appreciate it.

I believe the consensus would likely be that any relevant information on "multiseat desktop virtualization" should be contained within a section of desktop virtualization. You can feel free to condense and move some of your content into that article, although it would definitely need to be edited a bit for brevity. My expectation is that Fiddlehead would not meat our company notability guidelines at this point, and would be deleted (again); likewise, any links to companies usually are better suited for a directory, not for Wikipedia. jæs (talk) 23:13, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

ThinDesk

Hi Jaes,

I created the ThinDesk page... I am an expert in Desktop Virtualization but never posted on Wikipedia.. ThinDesk was listed as a Gartner Cool Vendor and I updated on hte reference page. Many other references ... reference Thindesk as a reptuable company. I am not trying to promote the company.. just make people aware of the trend in IT of Desktop Virtualization and included on the list of Vendors on the Desktop Virtualization page

Please let me know what I am doing wrong?

Tyler, thanks for contributing to Wikipedia, but please review my message above [on your talk page] again. It looks like ThinDesk has not yet reach the necessary threshold for reliable source coverage, as most of the links you have listed on the article do not actually seem to mention the company directly. Until notability can be established, most likely any external links from the desktop virtualization article will be removed. Take a look at WP:NOTE, and while it does not directly apply, WP:WEB actually does have some general principles that translate to software (and WP:CORP outlines the notability standards for companies). Semi-official action

Regarding this. I was actually in the process of writing up a fuller motion to be posted and voted on by the Arbitration Committee. It seemed polite to pause the discussion while that process was taking place, as otherwise it would be wasted discussion. Essentially, what I am doing is pausing that discussion, with the aim of having it continue it at the motions talk page in a few hours. My fear was (and is) that the Committee gains nothing by furthering the appearance that it is trying to hide "collapse" a discussion that was criticizing the "emergency" actions of the Committee – even if none of this was your intent. I apologize if I interfered with an effort on your part to simply pause the discussion so that it could become a more informed one — that was not my intent. MultiSeat Desktop Virtualization

I have another question, my friend. I noticed that Fiddlehead has been deleted from the MultiSeat Desktop Virtualization column on that article. The other two, "Userful" and "Multiseat configuration", are multiseat, but not virtualization, and they haven't been deleted. I would assume that is because you consider them notable, but not Fiddlehead... I understand that, so I tried to add Fiddlehead to desktop virtualization, but it was deleted because it is a fern... so I tried to start an article about Fiddlehead, but it was deleted because it was "an obvious advertisement", although I used the same format that the other products used to not be considered marketing material. It appears I have a chicken or the egg paradox. How do I describe multiseat desktop virtualization if I can't note any current products? ...or how do I make an article about the product? Thanks...
