[edit]Barjis Chohan is the Founder & CEO of Barjis; a multi-cultural award-winning Fashion & lifestyle brand. The brand received “Fashion brand of the year” in 2019 in London.
Early Life and Family:
[edit]Her birthplace is Karachi, Pakistan. She moved to London when she was 3 years old and was raised in South London. She is married with 3 daughters.
Education and Carrier:
[edit]She is a MA graduate from the prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art & Design and trained in executive education at Cass Business School. There have been several documentaries about her brand including BBC World, Islam Channel, Malaysian TV and Belgian TV. Barjis is a Designer, professional speaker and a social entrepreneur. She is planning to set up her own podcast show and uses her platforms to empower people.
Barjis is planning to launch my book in the near future
In 2018, Barjis launched her social enterprise; The Barjis Initiative. TBI’s mission is to empower marginalised communities in the UK, starting from grass root levels with creativity and leadership workshops at schools. The organisation is not a charity as she strongly believes in the power of enterprise to transform society.
While working in Fashion, Barjis soon discovered the lack of diversity in the industry. She hopes through TBI, she can open up opportunities for underrepresented communities including tackling issues of race, ageism and elitism at senior leadership positions.
