Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Isaiah

Hello. Per wikipeda's manual of style, it is inappropriate to change the era dating schema without both good reason and a discussion on the article's talk page. Secondly, without proper sourcing, adding potential fulfillments of the prophecies by Jesus Christ is original research, which is forbidden. Thirdly, should you find sources for your additions, they would appear to be more properly placed on the Jesus page than the Isaiah page. Thank you. -- Avi 20:46, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced the BC in the date, but please see Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#BC/BCE in articles on religious figures. As for the chapter and verse, that is insufficient, as there are plenty of alternate explanations to those verses (see the Jewish or Muslim commentators) so it is your understanding of the verse that leads you to place it there, which is original research. If you can find a verifiable and reliable source to that effect, it would help. However, it does not change the fact that that information is more properly places in the Jesus article in the section Jesus#Fulfillment of prophecy, or even better, the Claimed Messianic prophecies of Jesus where there already exists plenty of references to the verses in Isaiah. Yes, my talk page is fine. Most importantly, all of that information already exists in its proper place in Claimed Messianic prophecies of Jesus. I added a {{See also}} tag to Isaiah#Isaiah in Christianity, but any further expansion is inappropriate, especially per WP:SUMMARY. -- Avi 21:17, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a sentence that explains that a number of Isaiah's prophecies are viewed by Christians as having been fulfilled by Jesus without overloading the article with the specifics. The {{See also}} tag takes care of that. -- Avi 21:22, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
