Why V0.5 and WPCD won't nest

Not sure if you're still watching Template talk:WikiProjectBannerShell, so I'm writing to you here. The answer you were given there was not to the point. In reality, the reason why the templates won't nest is simply because nobody bothered to add the nesting functionality. That could be done for both templates. I tried that for another banner, and it's not easy. I asked on the template talk page, but so far people preferred to argue about the merits of the banner instead of helping me. It seems, everything that is not a WikiProject banner is very suspicious to them. That's why they won't help you and give you evasive replies. Luckily, you don't need them. You can simply use {{BannerShell}} like this:

{{WikiProjectBannerShell|text=This article is in the following selections and WikiProjects:
|1=
{{BannerShell|1={{V0.5|class=FA|category=Geography}}|text=Selected for [[Wikipedia:Version_0.5|Version 0.5]]}}
{{BannerShell|1={{WPCD}}|text=Selected for CD}}
{{WP Pakistan|class=FA|importance=Top|nested=yes}}
{{WPCountries|class=FA|importance=Top|nested=yes}}
}}

However, that currently only works with WikiProjectBannerShell, so it would require changing the template back to the way you had it in your last edit. I don't know why it was changed and I don't want to interfer with that, so I leave the decision up to you. — Sebastian 05:34, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Seb. I just posted it with minor changes. --IslesCapeTalk 17:29, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Nice! I'm glad I could help. I'll do a minor change, too. — Sebastian 08:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)    (I may not be watching this page anymore. If you would like to continue the conversation, please do so here and let me know.)

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On 17 January, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lyari River, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

While your help is appreciated at DYK, you're marking some things wrong and its causing problems. An article does not get the DYK tag applied on its talk page until after it is promoted. Royalbroil 04:54, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

You're right, sorry for complaining at you. It looks like an admin promoted some articles on the fly but forgot 3 things: to credit the articles, to add to the recent archives, and to remove from the suggestions list. Did you credit the articles? Royalbroil 13:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Good. Did you credit the contributors? Royalbroil 16:58, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Teaching of evolution in Pakistan

Hi there. The claim that evolution is not taught in Pakistan was made in 2005, at least a year before Pakistan signed the IAP Statement on the teaching of evolution, so we have no particular reason to doubt that article. Do you know anything more about the situation now or in the past? Even if you don't have sources, I would be interested to learn myself if you want to tell me more here or on the talk page. Is it much like Turkey (which I know a little more about)? Richard001 (talk) 22:57, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Interesting... what do you mean by 'creationism is taught as part of religious education'? Is it taught as something people believe, or is it taught as fact (i.e. creationism (presumably as described in Islamic scripture) is the truth? Is evolution taught in high school biology classes? Where I live and in most Western countries evolution is taught fairly explicitly. For example in one of my biology courses last year we had a section specifically on evolution, and this year I'm taking a paper called 'evolution and the origin of life'. Could you elaborate a little more on "At intellectual level, there have been attempts in the past to link the two by the mathematician Mashriqi and others."? Are you saying he is trying to unite creationism with evolution? Would that be like theistic evolution or something? Richard001 (talk) 04:48, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Could you tell me a little bit more about your own background? Are you from/living in Pakistan? We you educated there? I presume you were but I can't tell much from your user page. Richard001 (talk) 23:11, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
