A tag has been placed on Harveys point, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --OnoremDil 13:52, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I was editing it at the same time as the tag went on, I got message about two edit's happening and when I re-saved it, it must have removed the tag. Irishjp

Hi Onorem, this is a site in Ireland with a fairly unique alpine feel. I will be uploading more pics once I have permission from the hotel. It is a beautiful building that I feel deserves to be recognised. Many thanks. Irishjp 14:30, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed your {hangon} tag. That tag should only be used when an article is being considered for speedy deletion. This article has been tagged for Articles for Deletion by another editor, and any comments/arguments you'd like to make should be made at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harvey's Point. --OnoremDil 16:02, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why?

[edit]

Is there some good reason why you deleted the discussion about the deletion of the Harveys Point article from this page (here and here)? As far as I know, there's no policy that says you can't do this, but it looks distinctly like you're trying to hide this discussion for some reason, which raises not inconsiderable ethical issues. Apart from anything else, I came here to answer the questions you asked, which now I obviously can't do. Wikipedia, being a collaborative effort, doesn't work very well if you start arbitrarily deleting discussions. -- Hux 16:23, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

APologies, the page was getting very messy. I was asking the same questions again and again but was getting no answers. I am a new user and didn't know of any policy for not keeping my page tidy. If your intentions were to give constructive answers and help, I would be more than happy to summarise and go through them all again. Irishjp 16:27, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, at this point it sounds like you have quite a few questions that would be better asked somewhere where a lot of people will see them. I would suggest heading over to either the Help Desk (for questions on how to use Wikipedia, write articles, etc.) or the Village Pump (for more policy-related questions). -- Hux 16:39, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Peaceplayersinternational.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Peaceplayersinternational.gif has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Peaceplayersinternational.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 16:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Peaceplayersinternational.gif

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Peaceplayersinternational.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:34, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
