The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
Sir, It is evident that you don't want the other readers of wikipedia to see the content of that link. This links is evidently appropriate for the subject covered and presents an alternative view of the same subject treated here. The fact that it does not say that this document is a fraud bothers you, so you have made an excuse for it to remove it. You try to look cool, but you have been dishonest with me at worst or grossly negligent in your comments at best. Please provide a precise explanation why you want to censor this link (your response was merely a cut and paste of wikipedia policy and does not apply here, evidently). No alternative opinion or view is expressed in this document as it should be to keep it neutral. Regards. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.218.11.70 (talk)
- Removing spam isn't "censoring". It isn't a reliable source, it isn't even remotely neutral or encyclopedic. It is spam. Stop. IrishGuy talk 20:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
You are calling names but you refuse to respond. Labeling webistes "spam" does necessarily make them so. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.218.11.70 (talk) 20:56, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Clive Barker sites
You seem to be erasing two legitimate Clive Barker sites used as references for various articles, including some articles for which I can personally vouch has having use those sites. I'd like to show good faith that you are not simply removing these sites out of a dislike for the author Barker. You are, however, methodically erasing these through Wikipedia, and I'm not sure how one can be confident that they were never used as reference. Any talk-page explanation on these sites would be appropriate; saying just "linkspam" doesn't fully give reasoning regarding what seem to be standard non-commercial websites. Thanks. --Tenebrae 23:42, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- A year ago 85.210.225.157 simply spammed these links into about fifty article. No content was added, simply the highly promotional link about the link having a archive of fascinating comment. In Clive Barker's article...fine. In the fifty other articles they were spammed into...no. IrishGuy talk 23:44, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me. I did look through some of the Barker links elsewhere, and they were indeed appended with promotional comments. I've no input as to those links, and can only say the Barker/Razorline links were legit. You might want to check if some of the other ones you removed were OK, i.e., had no appended promo statements. In any case, thanks again for the collegial collaboration. Cheers, --Tenebrae 02:01, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. If they belonged in an article (e.g. Clive Barker, Cenobite, etc.) I mainly left them in place...but the bulk of them were clearly promotional and added to many articles where they just didn't belong (e.g. a link to the website because Barker wrote a forward to a book once). I feel I am being discriminated against
I followed the rules regarding posting links on article pages and have used the discussion page to get a link approved. However if you take a look at the talk page for the Emigrate article you will see the points I have made and so far the only responses I have gotten seem a little hypocritical and prejudiced against me personally. The reasons I have been given for not being able to post a link are because 'fan sites' are of little value and offer 'nothing exceptionally unique or informational'. However this article and many others on wikipedia allow links to fan sites that are little more than shrines with very little info at all. I feel that the website I am trying to get approved holds very comprehensive information on the subject and would be of value. Others have posted links to the site but these have been removed too even though other people clearly feel that the link should be there.
Please see the article and discussion page for further info. Emigrateunofficial 13:23, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- You aren't being prejudiced against. Fansites ordinarily fail WP:EL across the board and are routinely removed from articles. IrishGuy talk 20:49, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
In that case why are there hundreds of wiki pages with fan sites and one-page shrines listed that have been there for ages without removal? I feel this should be a no exceptions blanket rule that is properly enforced or sites with detailed and appropriate info allowed. The following pages are just a few for example: Richard Z Kruspe, Shotgun Messiah, Motley Crue, Michael Wincott, Patricia Arquette, PIG, etc. Plus it was noted that if others feel it is a valid link and they added it then that was ok. I was told by several people this had been done but those links were removed too. Emigrateunofficial 12:23, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Mary Christina Brown discussion
So I read the discussion on this article on this actress/producer..It sounds like your staff is saying she is not legit or that her credits are not true? Is there a way to resolve this problem or can someone help assist the article? Go ahead to http://www.hollywood.com/celebrity/Mary_Christina_Brown/3595550

Edit count discrepancy
Hey man, I've got a question for you, if that's okay. I was in my preferences making myself a signature and I noticed that an edit count was listed; however, it's much higher than the one listed by Kate's tool (Wikipedia says 1799, Kate's tool says 1420). I know the discrepancy comes from deleted articles, but my question is, which do people usually go by? Thanks! GlassCobra (talk • contribs) 02:18, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- I assume you are asking in reference to a potential future RfA, am I correct? In that case, Kate's tool is usually what is used. IrishGuy talk 02:32, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well yeah, RfA was one context I was thinking of, but I don't want you to think I'm obsessed with becoming an admin. :P I had also been thinking of users who have those "this user has more than blank edits" userboxes, or list their important milestone edits, but I supppose that varies from person to person. Anyhow, thanks. GlassCobra (talk • contribs) 04:59, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Please let me know...

Red Sox vs. Yankees
OK, on to the important stuff. On June 29 and again on August 3, I pointed out to an e-mail pal, who's a lifelong Red Sox fan, some hard realities for the Yankees fans...
On June 29, the Red Sox (48-29 .623) were 11 games up on the Yankees (36-39 .480).
On August 3, the Red Sox (66-42 .611) were 8 games up on the Yankees (58-50 .537) and the Yankees would have to gain a game a week for the rest of the season in order to catch the Red Sox.
My point at those times was that overcoming a double-digit lead becomes more and more difficult as the season progresses. Those early losses weigh on a team like an anchor.
Through Sunday, August 26, the Red Sox sit at (80-51 .611) and the Yankees at (72-58 .554) or 7 1/2 games back. So the "Yank-me" team (as he calls them) have played well, but the Red Sox continue to play well also, and thus the Yanks have gained only half a game in three-plus weeks.
The Red Sox have 31 games left on their schedule, and the Yankees have 32 (including 6 with each other).
- If the Red Sox go just .500 the rest of the way (15-16 or 16-15) they will end up with 95 or 96 wins. To reach 95 wins the Yanks will have to go 23-9 the rest of the way.
- If the Red Sox go just .550 (17-14) instead of their consistent over-.600 pace, and end up with 97 wins, the Yanks will have to go 25-7 to catch them.
- If the Red Sox continue to play at .611 (18-13 or 19-12), they will end up with 98 or 99 wins, and the Yanks will have to go at least 26-6 to catch them.
During July the Yanks went 22-11, but during August they went 24-8. So it's do-able, but they have to continue their pace of the last 4 weeks and hope that the Red Sox slip, because winning alone won't quite do it for them.
However, that's all just theory. They face each other 3 times this week. d:)
The above is statistically factual, and could be included in an article. Thus I'm allowed to put it on a talk page. 0:) Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 11:12, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- A great deal depends upon how they play each other. Boston has been dominating Tampa Bay and they play them six more times. Baltimore has suddenly been fairly solid so those games could go for or against Boston. If Boston can at least split the game with New York...the Yankees might be screwed. Otherwise...the Yanks could do what they historically do...make a stirring comeback and force every Boston fan to punch walls and be drunk for six months. :) IrishGuy talk 11:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Every season is different. It is not possible for a team to come back from 3-games-to-none in the post-season. Yet the Red Sox did it to the Yankees in 2004 and then won the Series - they were the Team of Destiny. It is not possible to come back from 14 1/2 games out in mid-July. Yet the Yankees did it to the Red Sox in 1978 and then won the Series - they were the Team of Destiny. We don't yet know who this year's team of destiny is - it could be the Red Sox, or the Yankees, or the Angels, or the Mariners, or the Padres, or the F-ing Mets, or maybe even (gasp!) the Cubs. Looking at 1978, on the morning of July 19 the Red Sox were 61-28 and the Yankees were 47-42, 14 games back. [1][2] The Yanks went 52-21 while the Bosox went 38-35, prior to the infamous playoff game, so overall it's not so much that the Red Sox flopped (they actually came back in September after trailing by 3 1/2 at one point), it's that the Yanks played at a torrid pace and made up the ground. The Yanks came into Boston in early September and swept the Sox in four-game series, and part of a serious early-September slump. So the Red Sox basically have to avoid a losing streak. This week's series is at the Stadium, but it's only 3 games, so the best the Yanks can expect to be at its conclusion is 4 games out. And if the Red Sox even win 1 of 3, it puts a damper on the Yanks. History can be misleading. Every season is different. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 11:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the Cubbies have the lead and your Twins aren't that far out of it either. You may be a very happy man come the end of September, :) IrishGuy talk 12:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't see how I'm spamming when I'm leaving a link to a site dedicated to the Maniac Cop movies & their director, William Lustig. Abuse of Authority
There are thousands of articles on Wikipedia whose external links include fansites. I'm not going to cite examples, because then sad, power-hungry individuals like yourself would indiscriminately blast them all. It's unfortunate that you have decided to single out an article about a B-movie most people have never heard of to abuse your authority. ManiacCopFans.com was begun by a friend and I to raise awareness of the movie. We have the blessing and support of Bill Lustig (director), Larry Cohen (writer), Robert Z'Dar, and Bruce Campbell. Yet, you seem to believe that this link violates a vague and subjective rule which is almost never enforced. The term "spam" denotes unsolicited marketing, not a link to a fansite. We make exactly zero dollars from the website, and it's only intended as a place for people to gather and discuss the films. How can you ignore links to "official" movie sites (which are clearly commercial) and instead focus on ours? People like you are ruining Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kd4nuh (talk • contribs)

Middle Years Scholars Program
Why do you keep deleting the article Middle Years Scholars Program? I gave the significance of MYSP, yet you kept deleting it with the reason that it didn't give significance. --Oboeboy 21:45, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

You deleted the article 'SMART Recovery' before I was even done editing it, with the explanation of "Blatant Copyright Infringement.'
Could you please explain how this is even remotely possible?

Key Deer
Well, I guess I can't argue with you deleting my paragraph regarding the origin of Key Deer, based on the Wikipedia definition of OR. I do not have documentation I can readily supply to support what I wrote. I grew up on Big Pine Key among very old fishermen who remembered Flagler relocating White-tail Deer to the Keys. I honestly don't know whether anyone has documented this and was simply trying to get the truth out. I'm a big believer in protecting these animals and believe that over development has ruined much of what I cherished growing up. But one of my pet-peeves is rewritten history. I never met a Key's resident who didn't find the notion of a glacial bridge over coral islands laughable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FormerConch (talk • contribs) 01:36, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Deleted Electrocrunk
Hey,
Can you please advise me on how to properly explain Electrocrunk? I thought I did the ebst job possible with the immediate resources I knew of. I think it's important to have this article and was going to continue to fill it out as best as possible over the next few days.
Can you suggest what to do?
Thanks, CE —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris English (talk • contribs) 18:39, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

The Game of Pimlico
Hi Irishguy,
I see you deleted the page I just created (my first one!) on the game that some of my friends ivented a while back. Although it is written in a not entirely serious style, it is a description of a game and it does make sense when you read the rules section. I intend to link it to volleyball variants and swimming pool entries so that others can play it. Anyway, I can't really see how it falls under either definition of 'patent nonsense'. Let me know what you think.

Hi there, I have spent considerable time trying to fix this article from being more than spam for some NN DJ. It appears to be an actual new genre of music, but that dude keeps hijacking the article for his own purposes, as if he alone created a whole form of music. Is it just too new? Is it salvagable? When do we give up? Bearian 14:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- The article as it stands is largely promotional. If the Shane Fontane promotional material is stripped out, it may be possible to salvage it. IrishGuy talk 14:55, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey Guys,
I do not think it's fair to dismiss electrocrunk from wiki. Remove Shane's name if that's the problem. Who cares? I like his work and genre. I dont care if his name is in it. lol. Whatever. There are plenty of artists across the world in underground electronic scene that have heard of this genre, although it is relatively new. Should it go unrecorded just because 4 people on wiki believe it's non notable? - signed: "that dude" lol

Deletion of Q-Bah
Hey Irish guy! How are you?
For some reason the page for Q-Bah has been deleted. I worked on it for and with him (he's my cousin), because my English is good and I wanted to write something about him that would interest the readers. I've added more than 30 sources and facts. Q-Bah is a radio-dj here and we're all very proud of him. He's interviewed big artists such as Sean Paul and because he's on the radio every day, hés also on a copple of cd's with famous artists. I think peeps def. would like to know more about him. If it's just a matter of writing it differentely or editing, please let me know andI will edit the file right away.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Kind regards,
Michael Maidwell —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.251.150.163 (talk) 23:12, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
