Thank you for giving credit to my retired homicide detective uncle.

You probably don't know who I am, but I am the nephew of former California homicide detective Gilbert Carrillo, who is known for his involvement in investigating the Night Stalker case and apprehending the elusive and deranged serial killer Richard Ramirez, who also just last year less than a year ago contributed to the Netflix documentary on the Night Stalker case, along with his esteemed colleague and fellow retired homicide detective Frank Salerno, who is also known for his work on the similarly infamous Hillside Strangler case in southern California.

Gilbert is technically my cousin on my mom's side, and it's been a very long time since I've seen him and since my mother has seen him, I was still a child in elementary school at that time in the 2000's and am 23 as of last December to give you a proper idea, but I see him more as my uncle because of the age difference between us. It's all still very important to me and close to my heart, and I really look up to and deeply respect uncle Gilbert for his work and how he got a real monster off the streets, and put Richard Ramirez behind bars for the rest of his life, exactly where monsters like Richard belong.

Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for giving my uncle and his colleague the credit they deserve for their hard work that saved countless lives and brought an evil psychopathic killer to justice, is all I'm saying. Thank you so much for your kind words, I take this to heart. I haven't edited much on Wikipedia because it was for a university project but this was one of the main articles I was focusing on. Even if little, it was my intention to take away from Richard and give more attention to the ones who helped get him off the streets. I still can't believe the nephew of a detective that I admire and respect has reached out! and Im jealous that you have had the honour to meet and grow up in the family of one of the most respected and admired detectives of all times :) Really, thank you so much for your message, it has warmed my heart.
