The article Jody McIntyre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sceptre (talk) 21:12, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Article now redirected to 2010 UK student protests. McIntyre himself doesn't seem to meet out guidelines for notability, but the incident is notable in the context of the article about the protests. I have therefore incorporated the relevant information into that page. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:07, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- I believe it is my prerogative as the nominee to withdraw the debate if I can find a sensible solution, which I feel I did, and it would save the information for a future time if/when there's enough information to recreate the article.. Inasmuch as this generated a lot of media coverage because what happened to him is disgraceful, and the behaviour of the police - and certain members of the media - leaves a lot to be desired, I don't think he's notable enough for his own article here. However, within the context of the student riots the events involving him are noteworthy so should be mentioned in that article. The afd debate has been reopened, and if you want to make your views known on this then please do so. The debate can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jody McIntyre. Thanks.
