Image tagging for Image:140px-Starfish2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:140px-Starfish2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for File:Neo1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Neo1.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:07, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neo.org

[edit]

Just a heads-up, an IP address slightly changed one of your comments at the deletion page for neo.org. If this was done by you and you forgot to login to your account feel free to add back the comment under your username. Themfromspace (talk) 04:09, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Rod_Beckstrom_site.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Rettetast (talk) 18:53, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:449px-Rodstr-1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:449px-Rodstr-1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:03, 15 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 09:03, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:449px-Rodstr-1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:449px-Rodstr-1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 04:08, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Reverted redirect

[edit]

Hi, Intersys - the reason I reverted to the redirect over your reverts and additions is that the 2 pages are the same, and your additions fall under WP:NOT. Everytime that article's redirect is removed, it throws the article back into the NPP queue, at which time NPP reviewers will restore the redirect. That article has many issues, beginning with much of the material being duplicated in the band's article. Thank you for your consideration. Atsme 💬 📧 14:07, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was asked by Johnny Maestro's widow to have a seperate page for Johnny. She sent me the text and the photograph.
Johnny was much more than just the Brooklyn Bridge
I am trying to fulfill his widow's wishes.
Thank You Intersys (talk) 14:12, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your position, and sympathize...but we have to think of the project first, so please review WP:NOTMEMORIAL. His band is what made him notable. The Brooklyn Bridge (band) is a trainwreck right now, and needs a lot of work to make it compliant with WP:MOS, so why don't you focus on fixing that article after you have had a chance to learn MOS? We have editors at WP:Teahouse who will be more than happy to help guide you. Consider adding a separate section about him, but make sure you can cite the material to reliable, independent sources. Atsme 💬 📧 16:13, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum – if you have a COI, you need to declare it on your user page, and also use the article TP to suggest edits, but because of your COI, you cannot edit the pages directly. As for the photo, who owns the copyright (whoever took the picture typically owns the copyright)? The photo might be useable via Fair Use, but that's a whole different ballgame. See WP:UPI. Atsme 💬 📧 16:17, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. The photo is from Grace Mastrangelo. We are working on an entirely new page for Johnny alone which will have different information (all fully referenced). As for the Brooklyn Bridge page - I don't want to sterp on any toes with that page as I believe some of the Bridge members may have put that up. Thank you again for your thoughtful input. Have a beautiful evening. Intersys (talk) 22:28, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
