Welcome

Welcome

[edit]

How are you (apa kabar) Indon/Archive1? And welcome to Wikipedia! Just to let you know, at the Indonesian WikiProject there are a group of editors collaborating to improve the articles related to Indonesia. We hope you can join us to make the project even better!

Here are some Indonesia-related project resources which may be of use:

Hope you find these useful. If not you can improve them, it's Wikipedia!
Okay, happy editing and take care.

So, basically, the most important thing to do now is to categorise all Indonesia-related articles. Please read Wikipedia:WikiProject Indonesia/Assessment. Oh, before that, you might want to add your name to Wikipedia:WikiProject Indonesia/Members. Well actually, I should have put a list of to-do, but its 12:30 in Melbourne and I need to get some sleep. I'll get back to you in the morning. Cheers, take care -- Imoeng 14:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox

[edit]

Do you mind if I add that userbox on your userpage? Sorry, I didn't mean to vandalise your userpage. Cheers -- Imoeng 22:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Contribution

[edit]

Wow, thats great, you've add an Indonesia-related news. Thanks for contributing Indon, keep up the good work. Btw, do you still have any concern about editing Wikipedia? Just drop me a message or go to WP:HD. Take care -- Imoeng 09:12, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration

[edit]

The new collaboration page has been created. For now, it is a "collaboration of the week" with standard rules and stuff, which later we can decide for any changes. But now, lets start nominating articles (one article for each person!) and voting. Please take a look at the page. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:21, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesian news

[edit]

That is a really great idea to split the section into two (the previous thing). Well done! Hey, could you participate on WP:FPCAN?? Thanks, take care -- Imoeng 09:54, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portal

[edit]

Hahaha, we are talking about two different things at the same time. Yeah, thats a good idea, but I don't have the capability to do that. The article/picture/biography will change with the week number. So this week is week 33, and every article changes. So it is unlikely (for me!) to change the articles on a different day. About the bot, ummm, I'm not an expert about that. Which part of the portal are you talking about to use bot? Cheers -- Imoeng 09:58, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, yeah, it must be good. However, IF someone can create that, there is still a problem. We don't have sufficient number of featured articles. If we have, I would have made the article changes everyday! :P So, well, we just have to update it every month, so I reckon its no big deal. But yeah, the bot thing will be very useful too! So have you nominate an article for the next collaboration? :P Take care -- Imoeng 10:11, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Exceptional newcomer

[edit]
moved to my user page @ 23:25, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

You do deserve it. Actually, I'm interested in expanding Tourism in Indonesia about travel warning and stuff. Why don't you put that on the nomination list? Cheers -- Imoeng 10:37, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism in Indonesia

[edit]

See [1]. Its all there, hahahaha. Except we have to avoid the WP:NPOVs. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keling

[edit]

Hey, thanks for your info on the keling. This is something i have never heard before. Even though i was the one who actually put the reference into the [[Indonesia] article some months back, i actually agree with your suggestion to put it into the Medan article - in fact, I have done it already! As for my reference to Tamil language vs. yours about Chinese, i meant Tamil is spoken within the Tamil community - not others. Are you new to Wikipedia?? We need more people like you. Ie, i do a lot of editing of other people's work, but you have brought NEW info and we need that. I second Imoeng barnstart commendation. I am also very keen on the Indonesia-related articles. See you around. Cheers. Merbabu 12:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism in Indonesia

[edit]

Hey, how are you? You know, I was looking at the older entries for Tourism in Indonesia and I thought we've done a very grrrreat job. Just to let you know, this is my very first collaboration and I enjoy it very much. Take care -- Imoeng 10:00, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, thank YOU! Hehehehe, seems I enjoy the article a lot. We still can add more info though, like all the possible activities. See, Merbabu also said you deserve the barnstar. Hey, have you considered to modify your signature? So there is a link to your userpage, as well as to your talkpage, I can help if you want. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:08, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indo collabs

[edit]

I was just wondering can we stop the voting process now and decide the article? As probably no one will vote anymore. Thank you -- 10:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Ahh, I missed one tidle. Okay, I'll change the templates. If you could, feel free to post new nomination. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:08, 20 August 2006 (UTC) Ohh, just want to say that you've done a very good job on Indonesian news.[reply]

Good morning!

[edit]

Hahahah, yeah, I'm leaving in 20 minutes though, so I can do some referencing. Hey, how do you like my new signature? The "I" is linked to WP:INA, heheheh.. SOme kind of promotion. Cheers -- Imoeng 21:06, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heheheh, okay I'll wait. In the mean time, I'll post heaps of stuff at Esperanza, so people will click my red "I". Okay Indon (I didn't know it means Indonesia in Malaysia, Australia and somewhere others), see you tonight. Take care -- Imoeng 21:12, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Damn!

[edit]

Tonight I can't edit anything (except this), heheh, heaps of project to do. Hey, take a look at my signature and click the "I", please. Do you think the other guys like to have that too on their signature? Cheers -- Imoeng 10:20, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahah, what happy face?? ;) Anyway, do you think its good to put "Indonesian cuisine" on Tourism in Indonesia?
Umm, what is CMMIW? About the banner, I'm not sure, but all collaborations do it that way, cause usually people don't put any "internal" wikipedians thing on the article page. Okay, I'm about to finish my project now, it should be finish by 9pm here. After that I'll work on the article. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:38, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey again, sorry to keep bothering you. If you could, please expand the "Future developments" while I'm working on the food section. Cheers very much! Imoeng 11:00, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No no, I like the section, especially the table, and the countries you've selected. Good job Indon. Btw, I'm talking with Merbabu via hotmail. Do you have hotmail? Imoeng 13:09, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ahahahah, sorry about that, cause sometimes copyedit could be a pain in the ass!! :P Okay, looking forward to get your hotmail. What about you, SatuSuro, do you have hotmail? heheh, sorry Indon!! Take care -- Imoeng 13:30, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism art

[edit]

Not bad - still room for improvement!  :) But better than it was folks! SatuSuro 13:21, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Awas hati hati, 'londo' lihat dari luar dengan mata keras ? There are many debates among foreign academics about indonesian tourism,

and one of the problems with tourism is that it is not a list of desinations, thats the other wiki, not this one! . I would be very wary about encouraging me to edit this article as i believe that from living in Yogya in 95-96, I have a late Suharto era 'tourism in decline' perspective, and a very strong academic perspective that is critical of indonesian governments pre- suharto fall and post fall in the way that the tourism industry is a function of political and economic manipulation as well as one which is quite complicated in the way that Indonesian culture gets all mixed up with it. Not a simple story! SatuSuro 13:37, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, because I was living in Yk during the last years of suharto era, my perception of what tourism was for the 'new order' government is probably quite different from what tourism is for the current govt. I dont think I can help very much for the art - I would do it very very diferently, as I do not think wiki should be lists of attractions :) Sorry again, I do hope to explain further sometime. SatuSuro 09:33, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV? Where?

[edit]

Somebody put a the WP:NPOV in dispute tag in the article page. Could you please tell me what are the dispute? What part of the article that does not give NPOV? — Indon 08:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Indon, good job on the article. I noticed some of these things
  • The most interesting branch of Citarum is the river that flows to the chalk mountain in the Rajamandala area, west of Bandung
  • It was not so long that Bandung had developed itself into an exclusive Europen resort style with hotels, cafes and shops. Rich plantation owners came during the weekends and so do girls and bussinessmen from the capital, Batavia.
  • Today, alun-alun has changed dramatically into a major shopping complex. In the meantime, the Dutch East Indies government built military barracks, the central government building (Gouvernments Bedrijven, nicknamed Gedung Sate) and other buildings. However, this plan has never been realized as the failure of the Dutch to reclaim Indonesia after the World War II. (As this is an encyclopedia, avoid these things (currently, recently, today and stuff)
  • In 1955, Bandung was again famous as the venue of the first Asian-African Conference
  • in Bandung is infamous with its complex, congested and chaotic nature. The city core is practically uprooted, old faces are torn down, lot sizes regrouped, and what was idyllic residence is now bustling chain supermarkets and rich banks

Well, I could copyedit them, but I'm afraid I don't know much about Bandung, so I'm afraid the real meaning will change if I edit it. So yeah, stuff like that.. Just remember, if you want to point about something which is a thought or things like that, just change the wording and provide citations and everything will be alright. Take care -- Imoeng 09:05, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing to do

[edit]

Hey there, could you give me some suggestions of what article should I work on tonight? Cheers -- Imoeng 10:17, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Context

[edit]

Tourism art - I did it after all - wehat do you think? SatuSuro 10:33, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you help me cite the sources? I've copied the section to my sandbox. Then lets put it together. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:15, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That is funny cause that exactly I was thinking about. Yeah it is strange that he/she didn't put any citation. Hovewer I always believe that there are many other ways rather than deleting. I'll contact SatuSuro now. Or you could, its really doesn't matter. Btw, do you have adobe photoshop? Cheers -- Imoeng 11:31, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nah thats fine. I just want you to make an Indonesian featured star image, just like the featured star image, but with red and white color. Do you want to do that? Cheers -- Imoeng 12:14, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indon - I need to know an email connection -I need to answer off-wiki re the historical context, thanks SatuSuro 12:29, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if you have the NPOV issue explained in the Bandung (although most of the examples are not NPOV at all but Style issues rather than problematic POV issues,,,,) what does that do for the historical context in the tourism article?
POV, and style can be very different and still people jump the gun on them.(seperti kurang mengerti tetapi BANG! BANG! like your attitude towards deleting my whole historical context section) Take Volcanoes of Indonesia in an earlier edit than the current one. That is a very good example of a very bad article. Read one of the earlier edits first. That is not an encyclopedia article at all. In comparison the historical context section has no major problem. I am prepared to take you through it - off wiki - each point by point if you'd like. There is a very fine line between 'negative' as you put it, critical (academically) and simply stating verifiable information. If you dont like it, maybe you should read and edit something else - or even go for the difficult subjects like Suharto and Indonesian Civil War, there it is possible to really go for the citation needed button with a real passion.

If you dont understand me, please let me know - I would rather explain something properly, rather than being dismissed. There is too much to enjoy di dalam wiki to get too worried about anything :)!! Dengan hormat, mudah mudahan saya bisa explain further soon!

SatuSuro 12:55, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are just too many issues arising from what I have written here, and what I consider about the History of Tourism in Indonesia section to follow up adequately in the short term, I have too many different projects at the moment, I will be back later, probably a week or two. Maaf ! :( SatuSuro 13:58, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Volcanoes of Java is what I was referring to, sorry for the misunderstanding. You need to look at the articles history, ie earlier edits as some have been removed already. That is very bad style, and not appropriate for encyclopedia edits! SatuSuro 01:38, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hard time

[edit]

This is a hard time for Indonesian wikipedians, especially after the Historical context thing. Well in my opinion, we can ask him to put citations, but he told you he wont be online for two weeks, am I right? Another thing is, is it a good option to save it on other page first, then if everything has been sorted out, we can "publish" it again. Seriously, do you have an external email? Cause I need to talk to you about this. Cheer -- Imoeng 09:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems there are so many misunderstandings, I cant count the number of them since I started trying to communicate with you two.

If you thought I was offline - I did not say that. I simply said I was not prepared to work on the tourism art in the next week or so, I have a large number of refs/citations on this issues that I simply cannot access at the moment - I did post grad research on the subject. :) I really think to pull a section of an article simply because I dont come up with them overnight is a bit too excitable for my style. I have to work on articles that people do not cleanup or fixup in 3 months, and you guys want one night or pull it? Come on be a bit more patient guys!

Maybe best if you want to do Indonesian articles you do them - and maybe If I contribute, you could communicate -directly- with me, so we can clear up any misunderstandings, as it has gone beyond the joke :) Be very careful wikipedia is for everyone - you must be aware that no one article is any ones possession ! Anyone can come in and edit and place any number of demands on what you think is good. Be careful, try not to take your edits and work too personally, or you will be dissapointed with wikipedia. Slow down, hati hati, and take it easy guys  :) SatuSuro 10:35, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let's discuss this issue in the Talk:Tourism in Indonesia so to other contributors can understand what is the going about. — Indon 10:37, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

References to Aceh in Indonesia Tourism article

[edit]

Thanks for your corrections - mine did indeed need improving. But, if you ask me, i think you replaced one error with another (although yours not as bad). So, i changed it. My intent is that the fighting/violence has stopped, but maybe the seperatist issue not fully resolved. I am sure some still want it even if they have stopped fighting and given up their weapons. Merbabu 08:18, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YEs, when i wrote "successful so far" I wrote with the intent to be factual and did not intent to provide opinion on the future. ie, it has indeed be successful so far - that is fact. Yet, I now realise that if i wrote "so far" people might interpret that as implying it is not a strong agreement. thanks for picking that up Merbabu 08:31, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

[edit]

Hi I'm fine thanks, how are you? It is good, but I think the word "click here to reply" won't be used for announcement and stuff. But yeah its better cause I can just click it to send you a message. Btw, which email did you send me to? Cheers -- Imoeng 11:18, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, probably the Gmail, but I'm afraid its not there. By the way, I think we should separate the inline citations under the "notes" section, not references, what do you reckon? Cheers -- Imoeng 11:27, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I reckon I read that on WP:CITE, correct me if I'm wrong. So there are notes, references (for broader sources) and for the "not a source stuff", goes to ext links or further reading, thats from what I read. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:49, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Selected article stuff

[edit]

Hey there, I've created the skeletons, probably you can help me expand it. Please see Portal:Indonesia/Selected_articles cause I'm at school now, ahahaha. Cheers -- Imoeng 02:17, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have mentioned "I" in your tag that you are putting in talk pages, but there is no signature after it.  :) SatuSuro 08:53, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maaf, I think I've targeted the wrong tag - oops I'll go back check what I had seen that needs the sig! malu sangat SatuSuro 08:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Selected articles

[edit]

No no, I'm not that good, I was just blatantly ripped that from WP:FA, but, well, umm, that is the best I can think of. And thank you for participating everything I have created, I've never seen someone who can appreciate other's work like you do. Cheers!! -- Imoeng 09:03, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User Page

[edit]

There's a spelling mistake! SatuSuro 10:07, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HAve you ever tried Camino? I find it better than safari :) SatuSuro 10:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Look at your user page, there is a word - Indonesia - that has not been typed in properly :) I do hope you understand, as I dont want to edit your user page for you :) SatuSuro 10:11, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, dont abandon an article because someone has tagged it regardless of their identity, that is not what wikipedia is all about, there are methods of negotating issues, and also, just because one editor has a problem dosnt mean that there arent other editors who might support you. Just look in Afd, Rfa, and other logs (if you dont understand me, please say so) to see how the process works - and how even if one editor is negative, there may be more who in actual fact support. Please ask me to explain more simply if you are not following me ;) SatuSuro 10:17, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do hope so too - sometimes it takes days or longer :( SatuSuro 10:25, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

[edit]

Cheers, Indon! It becomes a great project because we have people like you, who are also contribute significantly to the project. Oh, while I'm writing this message, I just want to ask for your opinion first. What do you think if the collaboration candidate will be decided every friday? So we can spend the weekend to edit the new COTW article. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the template with those "class", "importance" and stuff? Yeah sure! You don't need to ask me first you know, :) (this is a good smile). Cheers -- Imoeng 11:35, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Signing up

[edit]

Basically wikipedians can load user boxes onto their userpages with up to 100 or more affiliations - and be listed in all the categories. I consider it now to be irrelevent, and admire people with minimal user pages, as the main purpose is to edit, not worry about userpages. If I signed up for all the large range of my different interests, I would be wasting server space and bandwidth. I waste enough on other peoples talk pages as it is :) . Also I have some issues which will probably take me away from my internet access at any time. The principal of wikipedia is "that anyone can edit" and I dont have to have a label or badge to do so in any article. If you dont like me editing portal pages, correcting spelling or grammar, or revealing embarrassing things about myself on indonesian articles or the portal without "being a member", there's nothing I can do about that, sorry SatuSuro 12:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW I would gladly try to explain again if you dont understand what I am trying to say :) SatuSuro 12:51, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To answer your question - the above is not a debate, its an explanation - which seems more than you want. I could well be off wikipedia for a long time soon. :) SatuSuro 13:04, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving

[edit]

When talk pages get too long, it is useful - even article talk pages as well - look at Subud :) SatuSuro 23:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

[edit]
BTW I am not going to evaluate 'importance' of most articles that I tag WP

Unless I see something inside the portal guidelines that have very clear parameters - so far just general guidelines for the whole of wikipedia are not specific enough, - so thanks for your editing on that issue SatuSuro 23:49, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry - i think that although SS is correct that guidelines are not very detailed (and obviously subjective to some extent) they are more than sufficient for purpose. THus, I have rated Satu Suro's tags, as i did mine a few days back. Merbabu 03:51, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pointer, please!!

[edit]

To whomever who wants to start a topic, could you please point to me, just a few words, what are you going to talk about??. Sometimes I'm confused myself reading my own talk pages. Except if you start a topic that replies my comment on your talk page. — Indon (reply) — 09:23, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesian portal news

[edit]

Done! Ah, one more thing, next time could you please also put the news on the "more current events" link? If you can't just tell me and I'll do that. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:35, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I mean "Done! :)" heheheh -- Imoeng 10:39, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Selected pictures

[edit]

Actually I was thinking to make a page just like the Selected Article nominees page, so we can vote for the pictures. However probably I'll do it tonight, as I'm going to watch The Simpsons now, hehehehe. So you could choose it yourself, I reckon. If you could make the selected picture nominees page, please do so.

Here is the steps to make a selected picture
  1. Choose a picture and a related article
  2. Create a summary of the article, usually its just the first paragraph
  3. Create a page on [[Portal:Indonesia/ST_List/SP_(name of the article related)
  4. Put that page on Portal:Indonesia/ST_List with the link to the page. Just copy the formatting of the previous entry. The date is one week after the previous image. I mean, its just my schedule, change it if you want.
  5. Copy that summary page into Portal:Indonesia/POTW/37, 2006. Well again, the 37 is the number of week, change it if you want. But bear in mind you also have to change the article for the week you want to change
  6. Catch you breath, its done
Oh and please follow the current format. Cheers -- Imoeng 02:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC) (forgot to sign)[reply]

Muhammidiyah

[edit]

One of the interesting points of Dahlan's differences with the admin of the Yk Kraton was the direction indication to Mecca/Kaaba - qibla in the main mosque in Yk - if you dont have that in the article you are translating, it might not be relevant to the Muh article, but if anyone does a longer article on Dahlan - IMHO it is a point worth raising. SatuSuro 03:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had offered you the opportunity to gain material from my sandbox in relation to references for the tourism in indonesia. The use of stalker has ambiguous connotations and should be used carefully, If you would rather I didnt know what you are up to, thats fine. SatuSuro 03:40, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Indon. Thanks for removing the stub from Constitution of Indonesia. I wasn't sure why it was there, but as I wrote the article, I thought it would be a bit sombong if I removed the tag myself. Also, the person who put it there doesn't have a userpage. Regards. Davidelit 05:12, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kampung Keeling

THanks for the info on Kampung Keeling. I will try and incorporate a bit somewhere. --Merbabu 02:34, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bandung for portal

[edit]

Well, I'll help you right away with the article. Right now I'm writing a message to Feureau about the portal regarding selected articles. And from the messages I've read on Bandung article, it seems his standard is very high, or maybe, umm, I don't know, but just assume good faith. I'll get back to you ASAP. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:19, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, done, you can look at his talk page if you want. So now the best thing to do is to improve Bandung just a little bit more. Probably the best thing is to make a two-paragraphed" introduction. Well, just listen to your heart, ehehhe. Another thing is, I reckon it is not common to bolded words except the name of the article, which supposed to be in the introduction. So, probably you could consider that. To avoid edit conflict, I will edit each section after you make the introduction. Good luck, cheers -- Imoeng 09:30, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That is alright, and thanks for that, I take that as a compliment. Btw, about the bolding, I couldn't find it on MOS, I just said its "not common" to bolded many words. Okay, talk to you soon. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:43, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey again! I seem have found the core of the problem of Bandung article. In my opinion, you've known Bandung very well that you've put every thoughts and culture about it. Just like a sentence, "theres a good restaurant looking down the hill", or something like that. Well, I mean, it is good to know about the article very well, yet you still need to cite a source. Just remember, the more specific and detail your article is, the more likely people to ask for citations. Just like Spiderman, hehehe, the more power you've got, the more responsibility you'll have. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, I have plenty of time. Right now I'm looking for references and cleaning up POVs. See ya there! Cheers -- Imoeng 10:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think I'm too "kind"? You know, sometimes it su*ks to see a dude that is so nice, even too nice, and I don't want to be that kind of dude. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:12, 28 August 2006 (UTC) (hahaha, this is pretty strange)[reply]
Ahahahha, okay, lets talk via email. My question is just, "Am I being too nice? Cause I hate when there are people who are too nice, you know, like, they are never angry and always talk like angles, ahhaha." Cause by looking at the Feuraeu problem, I seem to talk (terlalu sok baek). heheheh. Create an msn dong, so we can chat, hehehehe. There is something I really need to tell you (Wiki stuff). Cheers -- Imoeng 11:30, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So?? Have you received my email? Heheheh, Cheers -- Imoeng

Hi Indon, apa kabar? I read your comments supporting the merger of the Gilchrist document with Sukarno. You make some good points. I think that other articles should link to this, for example Indonesian Civil War, but I haven't linked it because I and others are still arguing with the author about the title of that article. Other articles that should link to it include Indonesia-Malaysia_confrontation and 'Subandrio' - which doesn't exist yet.

Another reason the artcle is short is that is doesn't have the text of the Gilchrist document of any of the background, such as the burning of the British Embassy.

If articles linked to the Gilchrist Document and it was exanded to include the text, would your opinion change? Regards Davidelit 03:00, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PID DYK

[edit]

Yes Indon I've noticed that, but unfortunately, my knowledge is not broad enough to update the DYK entries. And yes, your suggestion is very good and I think it will suit the Indonesian portal. Based on my observation, other portals update the DYK section "manually", so without any sophisticated tools and stuff.

One more thing is, before September 1, my internet connection will be very bad, thus I won't be able to contribute as much as I usually am. So, I'd like to ask you to be my "wingman", ahahhaha, like maintaining INA and PID while I'm not here. Cause I reckon you are so dilligent on updating these projects. Could you do that? Not everyday though, just for special occassion. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:25, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that is enough, thank you. And probably I will ask Merbabu as well, as I've known both of you pretty well (wiki world, ahahaha). About the DYK, that is good, and just to remind you, a related article is needed for the DYK's entry. Tonight I will also find though. Umm, one more thing, just don't forget our collab of the week, Culture of Indonesia. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:38, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Umm, not only me, though, its "we". I think the basic rule is just, it has to be interesting, unusual and inspiring. And also, I think we don't have to set many rules as its not really a big and serious thing. So where exactly do you want to list all the entries? I suggest on Portal:Indonesia/DYK_Archive. Or, well, its up to you. Btw, I'm editing the sport and recreation section of the Culture of Indonesia, just to let you know so we don't work on the same thing. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ahaahah, no, its for you. I said, I'm not the one who set the rule, instead, we create our own rules. Also, DYK rules for Indonesian portal is not really important as its not a really big thing. Btw, I'm working on Sport and Recreation on Culture of Indonesia. Just to let you know so we don't work on the same thing. Heeheheh, cheers -- Imoeng 10:22, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I have an idea about an auto-rotation system for the DYKs, but we will need many pages and I'm not sure whether Wikipedia allows it. So this is the idea. Make a page with the name of the week, or day, or month, its not really important. And on that page, list 5 DYKs. On another page, which named with the week or day or the month after, contains another 5 DYKs, or maybe just one new DYK, you just have to delist one entry. Got the idea? lol, cheers -- Imoeng 10:36, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't mind I'll beautify it with Garuda image and some bolded and italics words, ahahhaa, useless things. Hey can you give comments on Culture of Indonesia#Recreation and sports. Cheers -- Imoeng 10:50, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think about the template? Cheers -- Imoeng 11:09, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers mate. Do u mean the Garuda the bird image? Well, u could edit it, and it would be great! Imoeng 11:36, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greatness! But don't you think the LS is pretty long? Oh well it should be alright as the article expands. Also, I think we should use another image for the lead section, as Dewi Sri statue, umm, well probably it is good. I just think that a wider image should be used. In conclusion, good job! Cheers -- Imoeng 12:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC) No, no, I'm not good at writing lead sections. Ahahaha, I can only find references, and that is all about it. Okay, we shall continue this tomorrow as I need to go to bed. Have a good night (if its night there). Cheers -- Imoeng 13:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User Page

[edit]

Hi Indon,

I think Did every wikipedian knows? should probably be "Does every wikipedian know this?"

I hope you dont mind the comment.

I am impressed by your pacificist quote - I think the world would be a much better place if many people and many countries could follow that!

SatuSuro 12:10, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK - but in that case to be correct english - "Did every wikipedian know?' would be better IMHO. SatuSuro 12:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please dont apologise - I should to you, Imoeng and Merbabu for my crankiness on the weekend SatuSuro 12:20, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Indonesia/DYK

[edit]

Re the Nias entry - it reads "at his hands", I think it would read better "in his hands". SatuSuro 08:17, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Many things, ahahaha

[edit]

Well, umm, I'm pretty confused now.. Lets see, ahahahah..

  • Thanks for that, but I didn't know that is a record, is that really true? Well again, its our hardword. "Berakit - rakit ke hulu, berenang - renang ke tepian" heheheh.
  • Yeah that article has improved a lot now! But we have one thing missing, which is the lead section, and I presume you have mastered it by now, :)
  • The DYK entries are perfect, and I like the Javanese names best. And because its very good, I even didn't know some of the things you've put there, like Borobudur and Orangutan (I'm not sure whether its Orang Utan or Orangutan).
  • Yeah you can do anything with my talk page. Just one thing, do you want to take his words to the "crap page"? Ahahahaha.

Cheers -- Imoeng 08:39, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One fatal mistake, today is August 31, not September 1. That's alright I'll change the news section. And about the quote, Ahahahaha, yeah, I was laughing so hard as well. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:12, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ahahaha, yeah I reckon. Okay, problem solved! Now I'm working on Cinema in Indonesia section, just to let you know (again), hehehe. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:15, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ahahahha, I give up, its like, I know the info, but I just can't express it. So, the film industry in Indonesia is divided into two right? I reckon. So before the 90s, it was a huge success and right now, it is trying to recover. Am I right? Maybe I'll just work on the radio section. Cheers -- Imoeng

Could you do me a favor? Please look at Indonesia#Demographics and find heaps of references. Apparently a genius has tagged lots of "fact" in the section, please see it, what a real genius. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:33, 31 August 2006 (UTCW) Well, umm, ahahhaah, my middle name is Google, its Timur Google Imam Nugroho, hehehe. Sorry if I overlap your edits! Cheers -- Imoeng 12:45, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay have fun finding references! I need to go to bed. Take care -- Imoeng 13:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transparent Garuda image

[edit]

I've created a transparent version of the Garuda image, but I'm not sure whether the license of the original allows me to upload it. See the discussion on commons: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Vector-Images.com I think I'm probably not allowed to modify the image, but will pose the question there.--Bwmodular 08:17, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've sent a mail to vertor-images.com so we'll see what they say. --Bwmodular 08:34, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here it is - I won't have time to alter any of the pages that use the coat of arms today myself.

Wikibreak

[edit]

Hi there how are you going? I think I really need a wikibreak, as I haven't started any project and I just really need some time to leave Wikipedia for a while. So, in the mean time, could you do what I asked you before? Many thanks! Imoeng 10:20, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
