[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}}

I merged your requests, as only one request is needed. 331dot (talk) 21:08, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
Do you understand that what you describe is a promotional purpose? Wikipedia does not lead, it follows coverage in independent reliable sources. Wikipedia is the last place to write about something, not the first. It's not for telling the world about something new. 331dot (talk) 21:17, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- As I understand it, and many others I'm assuming - People visit wikipedia to learn more about a subject.
- They also refer to wikipedia for unfamiliar terms that they might be approached with on their day to day.
- Its a knowledge-hub, I don't see the difference.
- I can understand the promotional purpose being prohibited and for a damn good reason, but the article we came up with does not include any promotional writing or leads anywhere. its purely for someone to google the term and read about it.
- If you think that's incorrect, tell me - who wrote the articles about confidential computing? and why were they approved while ours isn't?
- We don't really understand the justification here.
- And if wikipedia isn't serving the purpose of learning about new terms and definitions as well (as it currently does for many of your users) tell me - what is the purpose? I'm most likely missing something.
- Thanks,
- Itamar Inabit tech (talk) 07:39, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Just to confirm you understand my goal here, I wish to write about a new term in confidential computing with cryptography security level.
- Similar to the following existing wikipedia articles:
- Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)
- Multi-Party Computation (MPC)
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
- Secure Enclave
- Cryptographic Key Management
- You will obviously review the article as well if we had the chance to see that it serves the same purpose as those existing articles that wikipedia offers.
- Thanks again. Inabit tech (talk) 07:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- We also have an article for defining and proving that the knowledge provided is coming from a reliable source (as you define it - such as a university, etc.) Inabit tech (talk) 07:45, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Promotion has a broader meaning here than you are using. It isn't limited to just talking up a subject or selling something. Merely telling about something is considered promotion here. Wikipedia articles do more- they summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it is notable as Wikipedia uses the word. This is not the place to write about something new to tell the world about it; it's usually too soon for a new topic to have the significant coverage needed to merit an article.
- You seem to be conflating Wikipedia and Google/other search engines. Wikipedia isn't a place to look up anything and everything- that's what a search engine is for. Wikipedia is not a mere repository of knowledge. This is a curated encyclopedia that summarizes independent sources. "Put the technology to the public" is absolutely a promotional purpose. You should do that on your website, which will eventually show up in Google search results. Once you do that, and others independent of you take note of and write about it, then it may be possible for there to be an article about it. Ideally, any article should be written by an independent editor wholly unconnected with your company.
- Please see other stuff exists. That another article exists does not mean that it was reviewed or approved by anyone, and you would be unaware of this as an inexperienced user, or why it doesn't meet current standards(I haven't examined the articles you mention yet, but they too may be inappropriate). As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate content to get by us and exist, even for years. Each article or draft is judged on its own merits. 331dot (talk) 08:34, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ah I see, well I get the concept behind it and it totally makes sense. What I would like to ask you is for your help and advice on how to register such article. Eventually we have the following:
- 1. Written articles from universities and Google & AMD themselves that share our prood-of-concept for the technology and everything.
- 2. We have the content published over Medium and other example sites as well as on our website and documentation of course.
- What would we need to have be done? Eventually it depends on the publishing of the material I'm guessing, where in the near future someone from wikipedia / just a random writer would come and write about this subject as they're passionate about it or they found it interesting and came across our technology.
- Is this the appropriate use case?
- Thanks! Inabit tech (talk) 08:52, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- A subject trying to force the issue of creating an article is rarely successful. What you should do is go on about the work of your company, and once independent reliable sources choose on their own to give this technology significant coverage, an independent editor will take note of that coverage and choose to write a Wikipedia article about it.
- Your own company publications are not independent sources. If a university journal writes a peer reviewed scholarly/academic paper about this technology, that might work, but a university just telling about its research or proof of concept probably wouldn't work.
- Do you, as an individual, have any contributions you want to make towards building this encyclopedia? 331dot (talk) 15:24, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Would you be able to answer 331dot's question? HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 02:47, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
