List of Italians
[edit]Hi, I noticed your edits[1] and wondered whether you are aware of WP:PEACOCK, i.e. please avoid "peacock terms"/unprovable proclamations about a subject's importance such as best, most successful, greatest, legends. I was planning to revert the edits to talk for cleanup but thought I would give you a heads up first in case you wanted to fix them up. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 15:01, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Fountains of Bryn Mawr,
- I just have checked your thoughts. I'll try to avoid and fix these "proclamations" as soon as I can. By the way, the point "the most successful" is not included in this rule, right? If one is the most successful, it's a objective statement, a provable fact, not a "majority opinion". Don't you agree?
- Regards
- Hi, I took the liberty of formatting your talk, hope its ok.
- "successful" is a problematic proclamation because its subjective, many things can be viewed as "successful" by one person or POV and not be considered as successful by another person or POV. Also following the stated claims of "most successful" to the subject articles is bringing statements of "one of the most successful", so the attribution is incorrect since it is not supported by the article. WP:PEACOCK ask that "Instead of making unprovable proclamations about a subject's importance, use facts and attribution to demonstrate that importance"..... i.e list the number of medals in x number of Olympics or important awards, not make subjective proclamations. Please note phrases like "widely known as" are considered "Weasel words", re: authority with no substantial basis. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 22:17, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Dear Fountains of Bryn Mawr,
I have just noted your modifications... no problem.
For the point you were arguing, I think this is kinda confused and polemical, but I'm ok with that. I see your "worries" I can handle it.
Thanks in advance,

Your edits seem to show a slight misunderstanding of the Wikipedia project in that you seem to think articles should be used for promotion of individuals of a certain nationality. Re: these comments, You may want to read WP:NPOV. Material you add to Wikipedia should not take sides, but should explain the sides. This edit takes a side by implying Vincenzo Tiberio was the discoverer of antibiotics predating Flemming and does not "explain the side" that many people noticed this (easy to follow up on in article references[2] or by looking them up for yourself[3]). When looking up the position of someone re:inventions you need to look at publications about the subject, not the person. Articles about a particular individual have a POV (also see WP:RS for more on judging reliable sources). Try to avoid creating particularly false claims[4] such as listing Magnetic Compass, Concrete, Assembly Line, Crystal glass, Dome, Fabric, Insurance, Learned society, and Submarine, in "List of Italian inventions" [5] (the linked articles do not make those claims and supply counter references). - Dear Fountains of Bryn Mawr, I would love to discuss my new additions with you or anyone. Please provide some arguments and sources to prove otherwise. Thank you. In Ratio Veritas (talk) 19:31, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi In Ratio Veritas! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
The article Pier Giorgio Perotto has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no indication of WP:notability outside of Programma 101. Nothing here other than his date of birth and death that is not already covered in the existing article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 00:47, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Italian inventions, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Perspective and Art Academy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). - Please do not insert fringe or undue weight content into articles, as you did to Francesco Maurolico. An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. Please use the article's talk page to discuss the material and its appropriate weight within the article. Thank you. -- Atama頭 16:05, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
- What's your point here? I did not give any undue weight as you state. I collected lots of academic sources and a encyclopedia article. Regards. In Ratio Veritas (talk) 22:22, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
