The article Grove Avenue, London has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not significant.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Winner 42 ( Talk to me! ) 19:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Study of Geography (SOG)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Study of Geography (SOG) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — Zhernovoi (talk) 17:16, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Suhayb
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Suhayb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Still here?
[edit]Hi Impact33, how are you? I'm not sure if you're still around, it can't be very encouraging having all your contributions taken over by others, and having other editors delete the articles you created. I think the article you created on Grove Avenue might change a lot, but the little acorn you planted could grow into quite an oak, which you can be rightly proud of and is a useful contribution. Reply here, let me know if you're still here. Best wishes, Bigger digger (talk) 23:28, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Grove Avenue, London. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Please leave it until the discussion concludes and the closing admin judges the consensus -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:49, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Grove Avenue, London. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. This article was redirected after a discussion in which you had plenty of time to partake - you cannot unilaterally revert the consensus decision yourself. Hello again
[edit]Impact33,
Sorry, I was away over the weekend. You posted on my talk page to say you'd read my note higher up. I think it's best we keep the conversation on your talk page as it will hopefully become a useful reference for you. Although Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit, there are a whole number of policies and guidelines that control that editing. As an encyclopedia, the information within it is expected to be notable, meaning that other people have written about the subject before, and then editors can use what others have written to create an article. This means information in articles is verifiable, but the encyclopedia can't use every source, they must be reliable. Each Wikipedia page has a disclaimer at the bottom that states readers shouldn't believe anything they read – on the other hand the sources used should be trustworthy.
The links I've embedded in the paragraph above will take a while to read (I'm sure you'll find them easily enough), but will give you a good idea of how Wikipedia functions. If you have a chance you could read them, and then tell me why you think some of your articles were nominated for deletion. Or you could just ask me any questions you have here!
Finally, I see that you've had a few warnings for inappropriate edits. If another editor reverts your edit you shouldn't try to do it again without discussion. Have a read of WP:BRD for more on this, but it especially applies to archived pages like Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Grove Avenue, London. Bigger digger (talk) 14:15, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit]You wrote on my talk page:I'm getting quite annoyed at people deleting my articles such as Grove Avenue when I haven't done anything wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Impact33 (talk • contribs) 19:53, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'll keep the conversation here for your reference, and so others might chime in. Did you have a look at some of the links posted above? Things like WP:Notability? That guideline sets out the minimum requirements for a subject to have an article on Wikipedia. All the volunteers here have generally agreed that it sets a standard for inclusion, and the AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Grove Avenue, London showed that the community does not think Grove Avenue meets that level. Wikipedia isn't an opportunity for editors to write about whatever they want, this is an encyclopedia, and there has to be a cut-off point. There are plenty of things that Wikipedia is not suitable for, see WP:NOT. It's nothing against the efforts you make, plenty of editors are sad to see their work deleted. Why not find an article that already exists, one that interests you, and WP:IMPROVE it? Bigger digger (talk) 23:34, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- On my talk page you wrote: Thanks for that. I will start editing and helping out properly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Impact33 (talk • contribs) 20:53, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- That's good to hear. I see you started on Peter Crouch, are you a Spurs fan, or is it just that he grew up near you? Sometimes other editors might not feel that someone's primary school is an important piece of information – it's not normally included in a CV or job application, but we shall see!
- Reply here, I prefer to keep conversations in one place. I can see when you've replied from my WP:WATCHLIST, have you used yours at Special:Watchlist yet? Finally, remember to always sign your posts to talk pages with the tildes: ~~~~. On a PC keyboard it's shift and #, no idea where it is on a Mac, but there's a link just below the Save page button with the four squiggles, clicking that will insert your signature. I'll keep an eye out and try to help you out where I can. Cheers, Bigger digger (talk) 22:55, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Hanwell Park. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page.
