- Hi, There is an article on Protonic Ceramic Electrolysis Cell, which is different from a Protonic ceramic fuel cell. Though it is true that both PCEC and PCFC can perform hydrogen generation as well as electricity generation, PCECs are specifically designed for H2 generation, which makes it fundamentally different from PCFCs, which mainly serves in electricity generation. To be more realistic, the material choice for PCECs is a lot more different compared with PCFCs due to different parameter requirements. This is true for even the generic solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC). The similarities you see between the two articles are mainly due to the lack of details, but it will be more obvious after more people contribute. The current status of which only a PCFC article exist is extremely misleading to new researchers if they are not aware of the differences.
- If you insist everything be put into the PCFC article, you can change that into a more general term such as Protomic Ceramic Cell, but even then an electrolysis cell still needs to be differed from a fuel cell. and also PCC stand for too many things which makes it harder to search. I believe it is better to just leave the two separate, so those who need it can find it right away. Illya01 (talk) 08:44, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
