Welcome!
[edit]Hey Ikkisan! Welcome to the 'pedia. Saw you working on squid giant synapse. I take it you're interested in neuroscience? Me too (I did an undergraduate thesis on excitotoxicity). Have you checked out WikiProject Neuroscience yet? You might want to add yourself as a participant.
Do you need any help with anything? I think the image syntax you're looking for is [[Image:whatever|thumb|200px|left|your caption here]]. Substitute right for left if that's what you want to do. You will probably have already figured this out by the time I hit save page. Speaking of which, you should try using the show preview button to the right of the save page button to make sure the page is how you like it before saving. Don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or need anything, I'm always glad to help. Thanks for helping out with the project, glad to have you around! Thanks!
[edit]Hey delldot! I was actually giving a hand to the first author of the squid giant synapse article. He asked me to upload the 2 figures, and I took the opportunity to learn how to do it. Yeah, I should definitely have used the preview function to minimize my footprint on the revisions log. I'm currently a PhD student in neurophysiology. I checked the WikiProject Neuroscience. It seems great. However, I started recently participating to Scholarpedia.org. Its aim is pretty much the same as the neuroscience wikiproject, but the way to achieve the best quality is slightly different. And I made an engagement to give a few hours/week to Scholarpedia...
Hopefully, I'll have more time to check the wikiproject in the future. if you have some time yourself, please let me know what you think of Scholarpedia. Keep up the good work!! Cheers, ikkisan
- Well thanks for helping out here for a while, at least! I'm jealous that scholarpedia gets you instead of us! ;) I checked out Scholarpedia, it's really neat. Everything's of high quality (probably because of the accountability). But you're right, different approach. I bet the projects could benefit from folks working on both, though. No worries about the show preview thing. Anyway, drop me a note next time you're around! Peace, delldot talk 10:15, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
