Israel Railways templates

[edit]

What do you need help with?

I want to improve the box for Israel Railways stations so it will be like that of the London Underground one (with line colors, etc.) IgKh 13:02, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide the article title so i can see the problems. Aleenf1 14:43, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps this is the box you mean?

No, not this one. In the bottom of each Underground Station article (such as Russell_Square_tube_station) there is a small box that states the lines that pass through the station, their color, and the next and previous stations.

The boxes on the few articles on Israel Railways stations (see Jerusalem_Malcha_Train_Station), are broken - no color, bad titles, etc. IgKh 15:45, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean this fellow here?:
start LUL box

end box

Budgiekiller 16:40, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. How can I create a box template like this for Israel Railways lines? And another question: how can I create new stub categories? IgKh 16:47, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Stub #Additional information for instructions on new stub categories. Aleenf1 17:06, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK the first box is

start LUL box end box

The second is

Start Israel Railways box end box

The curly brackets invoke templates: these are pages that are substituted with the variable listed in the appropriate place (and can get quite complicated). If you look at the templates they are very similar but the one you are lloking at uses an argument called "line color" in this expression style="background:# . If you try setting this to a suitable value (I'm cheating and using London Underground from the big box above) you get

Preceding station   Israel Railways   Following station
Terminus   {route}   Biblical Zoo
towards Kfar Saba-Hod Hasharon

which shows us there is a bug in the template. Actually there seems to be more than one, because I fixed the obvious one, and it was still broken. But that's how to do it. Rich Farmbrough 18:28 16 June 2006 (GMT).

OK tmeplate now fixed. Rich Farmbrough 18:36 16 June 2006 (GMT).
Thank you very much! The only problem left is that both columns say "Next Station", rather than "Previous Station" and "Next Station".

IgKh 18:48, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is becasue it depends on which direction you're going, I suppose. Template:Start Israel Railways box is the place to go to change it if you want to. Rich Farmbrough 22:03 28 June 2006 (GMT).

Shalom, I was wondering if you had any suggestions and improvements to the template version I used in the articles I created. Best and most complex example is at Tel Aviv Merkaz Railway Station. On a different subject – I left an answer form you on my talk page. Db1944 20:42, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you don't mind I've uploaded your lovely picture to commons:Image:Jersualem-CBS.jpg

Hi IgKh: The above was mistakenly placed on my page. Thanks. IZAK (talk) 07:06, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
