Jennette

[edit]

Hiya Ifny, out of curiosity, what made you revert your edit to Jeannette Piccard? The resulting sentence could really use a reference, but on the face of it, the edit appeared helpful...
— V = IR (Talk • Contribs) 22:59, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there Ohms law, well, /me is red in the face...basically I followed a trail of breadcrumbs that led from Auguste to Jeannette, and missed Jean entirely (I assumed that the author was referring to Jeannette as she was popularly known at the time, in the familiar 'Jean'). The section reads quite differently in that context. Characterizing Jean's removal from the project for being "annoying" is too vague; I intended to clarify it by contextualizing it within the rest of the section. Upon further reading I realised my mistake and reverted post haste! But I see my scratchings didn't go unnoticed darnit. Hopefully someone will be able to expand on the subject of how husband Jean specifically "annoyed" the powers that be. ifny (talk) 23:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah... I think that I understand. I must admit that I'm not terribly familiar with the subject, but I have some interest in the subject area which her bio falls under (NASA related articles). I'm keen on seeing the article continue to improve is all, which is all that drew the edit and reversion to my attention. No need to be embarrassed, at least you were able to catch (the mistake?) it and revert it yourself.
— V = IR (Talk • Contribs) 07:40, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm relieved to have caught it myself first, saving others the trouble. And glad to satisfy your curiosity :P As for myself I'm interested in unusual figures who 'go against the grain', and follow the legacy of women of scientific inquiry. At any rate, nice to make your acquaintance and see you around the neighbourhood. ifny (talk) 21:00, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Lover (film), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Chinese and Chinaman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
