Excellent Job
I was just about to add the ITF profile to the Andreescu article. However, Grand Slam titles are not awarded by the WTA, according to most sources. The WTA citation is contradicted by other neutral, reliable sources in the Grand Slam article. I don't think that should be the one used in the info box. I propose changing it. -- James26 (talk) 18:33, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- Left a reply on the Andreescu talk page. Thanks. -- James26 (talk) 02:29, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited James Hoge Tyler, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Tyler (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:35, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Royal family
Ok you are an idiot Harry is no longer Prince Harry and Meghan Is no longer the Duchess of Sussex so if you are too stupid to understand that please do not create fake news. They quit being royals. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8211825/Prince-Harry-drops-royal-surname-leaving-Britain-California-wife-Meghan-Markle.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prepstarr25 (talk • contribs) 05:38, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- They are still members of the royal family and still have their royal titles, so the page should stay as it is. Also, your source only claims that he dropped HRH and Mountbatten-Windsor, which is unrelated to our content dispute. Iffy★Chat -- 08:03, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

David Jack (footballer)
Re the non-admin close at Talk:David Jack (footballer)#Requested move 6 July 2020. Non-admin closes should be performed only when the consensus is clear. Please revert and allow an admin to close. -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:48, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- @JHunterJ: I have performed many RM closures and am very familiar with the ins and outs of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Do you have any issue with my closure other than that it was closed by a non-admin? Iffy★Chat -- 16:58, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yes. There was no consensus, and certainly not a clear one, so shouldn't be performed by a non-admin WP:RMNAC, which is my principal issue with the close and why it should be reverted and left to an admin to close. As far as familiarity with WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, which you've brought up here, the long-term significance arguments (and the page views arguments) were presented by the opposers, but you introduced "we don't have to choose" as an argument in your close and decided to go with the supporters, which looked more like "what I think of" arguments. -- JHunterJ (talk) 17:37, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- @JHunterJ: There is no single method of weighing the primary topic criteria, so if there is a winner in usage, and a winner in long-term significance (or if there is no clear winner in one criteria but a winner in the other), then it is up to the community to decide how they should be weighed. Members of the community clearly disagree on how they should be weighed, but long-term significance arguments were made by the Supporters of the move:
No indication that the 1920s footballer left such an oversized footprint upon the game
Not overwhelmingly better known than the others, two of whom were so prominent that they were knighted.
We have a six-way DAB including two knights of the realm and an award-winning musician currently on the road, and yet some old hands still think a footballer who died fifty years ago is...
. Nobody is disputing thatThe footballer has long-term significance
, but whether the usage and long-term significance primary topic criteria weighed strongly enough in favour of the footballer to make him the primary topic, and on that question I found that there was a consensus that there is no primary topic. Iffy★Chat -- 18:32, 15 July 2020 (UTC)- My request wasn't to rehash the discussion. Per WP:RMNAC, please revert your non-admin closure of an RM that hadn't reached clear consensus and wait for an admin to close it. -- JHunterJ (talk) 18:36, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- I do not consider the discussion contentious enough to require an admin to close it instead of a non-admin who is experienced and familiar with the policies involved, so no, I will not be reverting my closure. You are free to take this to WP:MRV if you want to take this further. Iffy★Chat -- 18:45, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
