Speedy deletion nomination of IEREK - International Experts Research & Knowledge Enrichment

[edit]

Hello Ierek conference,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged IEREK - International Experts Research & Knowledge Enrichment for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 00:02, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Sustainable Urban Development

[edit]

The article Sustainable Urban Development has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be an essay.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your username

[edit]

Hello. Thanks for the good edits so far. I just want to say that having a username that is an organization is against policy. Please see Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple, or abandon it and register another. Thank you and happy editing. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:16, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, as it is obvious that you work for Ierek, please read:

  • @Anna Frodesiak: I actually ended up deleting the page since it was somewhat promotional in some places and had some stealth links to the Lerek Conference in various places. I don't have any problem with sending it to the userspace since this might warrant an article outside of the overall article on sustainable development, however this isn't entirely the way to go about it. I'd prefer that a non-COI person make the article, but if this editor is willing to go through AfC I am willing to restore it and send it there. It needs a lot of work before it's remotely ready. On a side note, I also blocked them as a promotional username since it looks like they made at least one edit after you posted here, so they should have seen these warnings. Hi Tokyogirl79. I totally support your decision. I almost went that direction earlier and debated with myself. Now, with the undeclared paid edit(s), it is clear. Many thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:08, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 12:36, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
