Speedy deletion declined: Nirmal Kumar Ganguly

[edit]

Hello Ichgab. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Nirmal Kumar Ganguly, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 15:46, 6 June 2014 (UTC) Going by your logic every official in every country should have a wikipage devoted. very nice od youIchgab (talk) 18:16, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict):Please do no longer nominate this article for speedy deletion. Doing that is disruptive and you will likely be blocked if you keep adding speedy deletion tags after they have been removed multiple times. Please don't confuse significance and notability. Speedy deletion is only about significance, i.e. making an exceptional claim in the article. This has been done by stating that NK Ganguly is president of some notable research institution. Whether he himself is notable enough is something different and should be debated at Articles for deletion or by simply proposing a deletion. But speedy deletion is certainly not applicable here. Please read the essay WP:BOOMERANG. Your report to WP:ANI, complaining about removal of speedy deletion tags, when you were being disruptive by reapplying the tags after they were removed, risks sanctions against you. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:02, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
