Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Icesnowgeorge. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page INVNT Group, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 17:24, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Drmies:I do not have a conflict of interest. This is a company I am familiar with from my line of work. I was actually surprised that they didn’t have a page so I decided to help out. I hope my work would be appreciated. I have done my best to comply with wiki policies. Could you tell me why you have removed the awards?? Lots of companies have an award section. Is there a policy regarding including them? Icesnowgeorge (talk) 17:50, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- Yes: content should be sourced to reliable secondary sources. Did you put that section in there? Because most of them were sourced to the company website, if I remember correctly. Of course many such articles have such sections, because many such articles are written by the companies themselves or people they paid, and they want to look good. But awards have to be meaningful, not inside jobs or plums companies hand out to each other, and secondary sourcing is one thing that can help make some award noteworthy. But these awards really should be notable themselves (meaning, have an article)--that's how we do it in K-pop, for instance. So solid secondary sourcing is really a bare minimum, but not necessarily sufficient. Drmies (talk) 19:56, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
