Catalonia: page title

[edit]

I've moved the article back to Catalonia as this better meets Wikipedia guidelines. On the English Wikipedia, pages should be at the names they are most commonly known by in English. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (places). Specifically: Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.

Also, the vast majority of articles that mention Calatonia link to Catalonia.

One final very imporant point: when you move a page, you must always check for double redirects. If one page redirects to another redirect page, this second redirect will not function. You should check for this and edit the first redirect to point at the actual article. You are prompted to do this when you move a page. You can also see this information by going to the article and choosing "What links here" from the toolbox on the left hand side. JRawle (Talk) 13:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It might not have been your intent, but you recently removed content from Catalonia. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you.

I am referring in particular to the links to articles in other language. Why did you remove the link to the Korean article? This is a form of vandalism. I noticed that you have previously removed links to other languages from other articles in Wikipedia. Please don't do this any more, otherwise action could be taken against you, ultimately including blocking you from editing. JRawle (Talk) 12:19, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that in a lots of cases, you are removing the "es" interwiki. I respect your political opinions, whatever they are. However, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia written from a neutral point of view. If there is an article in Spanish about a place in Catalonia, it should be linked. This would be the case even if Catalonia were an independent country. If you disagree with the neutrality of those foreign-language articles, please register with the relevant site and discuss the matter on the talk page there. Simply removing links from the English Wikipedia is not an option. JRawle (Talk) 12:28, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Preview button and edit summaries

[edit]

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again.

When you make an edit, please could you also enter a brief description of what you changed? Other people can then see that you are making genuine contributions and not vandalising pages, and it makes it easier to follow the page history. Please see Help:Edit summary for some ideas of what you should write for the summary. Many thanks, JRawle (Talk) 14:42, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Las Nieves

[edit]

You pages moves related to Las Nieves have been deeply unhelpful. In particular you manage to lose an article on Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte in the Philippines in the many double and triple redirects you created to Las Nieves, Galicia (Spain). --Henrygb 23:44, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fabricio Coloccini

[edit]

Fabricio Coloccini's name is not Fabrizio. He is Argentine and thus has the Spanish name Fabricio, and not the Italian Fabrizio. (See for instance official FIFA page) Making such changes across the Wikipedia without sources nor consulting it was perhaps not the best idea. I'll have to revert your changes. If you have any doubt or comment on Argentine-related articles, please leave a message at the Argentine notice board's talk page. Good wiking, Mariano(t/c) 07:38, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Fabricio Coloccini, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
You have not only completely ignored my message, but have restored all your changes on Fabricio Coloccini without explaining your edits. From your talk page and your other contributions I also see you are showing a behaviour that strongly resembles that of several vandals. If you insist with such actions your account might be block. Please, as I told you before, connect me, or leave a message at Talk:Fabricio Coloccini stating why you believe that his name is Fabrizio with Z instead of C. I truly hope this was just a misunderstanding, and that you are not just another sock-pupet vandal. Mariano(t/c) 12:46, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
