Regarding your contributions to Riemann sum, sorry I removed it without notification. One request however. The text is not well-written. There is a huge amount of repetions among the sections; there is no need to state the notation in each section, as it is the same. The language is clumsy (I could help with that). The math symbols need to be made all italic (part of the reason I deleted your contribution is because I started fixing it, but there was a huge amount of work).
So, I would like to ask you to shorten the explanations a bit, and change all occurences of xi to ''x''''i'' or <math>x_i</math>, which amounts to text which is now
- xi
appearing as
- xi or
as per the math style manual. Thanks a lot, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 00:58, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Me again
[edit]Please don't forget about making the variables italic. It is a pain in the ass, but you've got to do it. :) Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:29, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- I worked more on that article. Instead of [a, b] I put [a, b] (italic, that is). I reverted the places where you replaced HTML with math, I think it is good to keep it all html for uniformity (that is, an html formula followed by a TeX formula, followed again by HTML, looks not so good). More work is needed there, but I need to go to bed now. A big challenge for you: how about making some pictures showing the left, right, middle and trapezoidal sums? That would make a better point than any long-winded wording. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 05:30, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- I replied on my talk page. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:44, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- And don't forget about proper math markup. :) I replaced x^3 with x3 in the image captions. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:49, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
