Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of original programs distributed by Amazon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AMC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to List of original programs distributed by Amazon does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Stone Ocean (JoJo - Part 6 (Season 5)): Netflix vs Tokyo MX debuts

[edit]

Wait. So there's no special rule for having Stone Ocean on "Netflix original programming" over "Int'l exclusives" despite the fact the Netflix debut is in December 2021? -Prince Silversaddle (talk) 14:23, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did quick check. BNA, Carole & Tuesday, Godzilla S.P., Great Pretender and Last Hope have been released on Netflix before any broadcast in Japan. They are not continuation. They are claimed to be "pre-release" on Netflix. --Iceandsnow7 (talk) 21:44, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To add my voice because I was the one who undid the edit: The important point never was if it was released first on Netflix of course. Since we are talking about Netflix Originals here the more accurate question would be: Was it first released on Netflix (in any region) and does it have Netflix Original branding? If these two points were met we put it on List of Netflix original programming. If not it went on List of Netflix exclusive international distribution programming, which was just a sections of List of Netflix original programming back in the day. This was a point of discussion before, but to my understanding it was sattled a long time ago. Abyss Taucher (talk) 22:25, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think most important point is whether Netflix has exclusive rights globally or only in selected territories. Many animes produced in Japan have been streamed on Netflix without "Netflix Original" label in Japan, but with "Netflix Original" outside Japan, because Netflix does not have exclusive global rights. Some of them have been streamed before broadcast like the examples I mentioned, others after broadcast. Timing is not the issue. Sometimes, Netflix starts to stream a few hours earlier on the same day. Jojo will be streamed without "Netflix Original" label in Japan. That fits List of Netflix exclusive international distribution programming. On the other hand, Netflix does not stream some programs globally, even if it had global exclusive rights, when they don't see enough demand in certain regions. Not that other companies broadcast or stream those programs in the regions. Those should fit "Regional Original Programming" in List of Netflix original programming.--Iceandsnow7 (talk) 00:02, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Box - Anime Series Adaptation

[edit]

I noticed that you moved its info to "List of Netflix exclusive international distribution TV shows"; actually I myself was debating on whether or not to add it first there or in "List of Netflix original programming", despite the fact there's zero evidence at the moment if Netflix is considering a simulcast of the show like how they did it with "Delicious in Dungeon". Their announcement yesterday stated that they will stream the series sometime later this year.-Prince Silversaddle (talk) 23:35, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
