License tagging for Image:Jude Law red carpet.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jude Law red carpet.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. Bring Back One Hit Wonders

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bring Back One Hit Wonders, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Tikiwont 08:49, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Son of Tony

[edit]

Please stop vandalizing Son of Tony. Just because it's on the way to deletion doesn't mean you can play around with it using fake information. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:24, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know the feeling, dude. These fake articles annoy me -- there was one called War a while ago, a supposed film by Kubrick that he made back in the day. Completely fake. It was deleted, thankfully. We just gotta let this article run its course, and it'll be gone from Wikipedia forever. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:28, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I tracked down his contributions -- he made another fake film article at The Fast and the Furious: Top Gear. I'll keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't do anything more. By the way, you should leave a signature with your comments. Type four tildes (~) at the end of your comment to leave your name and a timestamp. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:33, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Superman

[edit]

I would suggest against creating an article right now, because production for the sequel is still a long way off. Bryan Singer is currently filming Valkyrie. If you have new information, I would suggest adding it to Superman Returns#Sequel for the time being. I would also suggest looking here to see if the headlines there match what you found. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:39, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am. I've helped with Iron Man (film) and The Dark Knight (film), so they're in pretty good shape. I'm looking forward to TDK, but I guess I don't know what to expect from Iron Man. Favreau isn't exactly a renowned director. By the way, when you respond on my talk page, just go to the bottom of it and click "edit" to leave another comment under the same section, instead of creating a new one. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:48, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's true about Elf, and in addition, Iron Man is just not as popular as Batman. It depends on how captivating they make the film, not to mention a good marketing campaign. I'll be seeing both, though. And don't forget The Incredible Hulk, being released in summer 2008 as well. Ed Norton as Bruce Banner, that's pretty good casting. And about leaving comments, make sure you leave a line of space between your comments so they can be seen separately. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 21:17, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I passed on the Fantastic Four films, as they did not get very good reviews, according to Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I have too many other movies to watch (you can see some under my Status on my user page), and I have over 450+ titles on my Netflix queue. So Fantastic Four isn't a high priority for me. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 21:29, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:AlanCarr.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AlanCarr.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. bluemask (talk) 05:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:AlanCarr.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:AlanCarr.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. bluemask (talk) 05:22, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Crash Twnsanity.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 17:50, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
