Mandatory requirements when moving content within Wikipedia
[edit]Hello. I see that you recently removed a lot of content from Electric trike and moved it to Electric rickshaw.
Ordinarily, it is perfectly okay to move content from one article to another, but there are mandatory requirements when you do. Material on our projects is not public domain. It is liberally licensed for use and reuse elsewhere, but only if the terms of the licenses are met. This is very easy to do when reusing content within Wikipedia itself, where all that is necessary is proper attribution of the material.
To attribute, you must at minimum include a direct link to the original article in the edit summary when you move content. You can do this with a note such as:
Content copied from Electric trike, which see for attribution
Guidelines also require a note on the talk page of the source and destination articles. We have a template that makes this simpler - {{copied}}.
You can read more about how this is done and why at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
If you have moved content between articles in the past besides this one, please make sure you go back and attribute as needed, and please be sure you follow this process when moving content in the future. :)
In this particular case, however, I'm afraid that the content you moved has had to be deleted from both articles, as the editor who placed it here originally copied it from another website (specifically [1]). --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:58, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for November 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Luke Collins, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heroes Reborn. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 14:01, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Roy Padilla
[edit]A tag has been placed on Roy Padilla requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. // Posted by larsona (Talk) // 23:21, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Message from User:Unbuttered Parsnip
[edit]I want to talk to you. But as I said to User:P199 (and others), I had a stroke back in April, and I have great difficulty writing or speaking. I'm OK in reading / hearing but getting words in very hard, like another language, such as Martian. I've lost about 90% of me words, and the ones I know I have trouble spelling.
I want to talk about what we can do. I want to add good things to articles. Wikipedia is supposed to a worldwide encyclopedia, and as such is not wanting to filled with tosh. I don't know how much you've learned of structure of Wikipedia, but there are lots of "rules". Some of them are quite arcane, but fortunately also not often found. Ones we see a lot of are such as WP:V, which means texts must be true, not just rumour; or WP:NOT which means not to be pieces in just because it's there.
As you know, I've done a lot of work on Central Visayas – Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor. I've more or less finished to current update for Cebu and Siquijor, and just started Bohol. As you can tell, there aren't many (i.e. none) people who won't to help. Apart from updating the pages, there are real items which can be said. For instance, there other things to say about Danao, Cebu apart from its guns which were produced but probably not much now. There are several resorts there, as well as big Japanese factory there. And the history of Danao (and northern Cebu) is about sugar and its railway. More to talk about than just illegal gunsmiths.
Similar, there is absolute nothing to said about the middle initial of any mayor. The whole town is just a fleabite and nobody, apart from Johnny V. de los Reyes and you, cares another. After all, it's not even his own name, it's his mother's. Similar, I don't want the number as well as the name. Johnny de los Reyes, without de los Reyes III or whatever. Finally about names, I want real names, not nicknames - no 'Bongbong' or 'Ding' or whatever.
About Bien Unido, like all those small municipalities, no point in wasting time for an article fewer than 10 hits a year. Much better to add rather than changing what's already there. For instance, while add a paragraph or two Danajon Bank and Danajon Islet. But wait, is it in Bohol and not in Leyte?

- Hey thank you so much for this response. I really appreciate it. It took me a few days to read on this since I'm busy with work as of late. Now I understand where you are coming from and you know what, we are actually on the same page. I really learned a lot from you. Anyway, I understand your stance with regard to the mayor's name in Talisay, Cebu. I don't have any disputes on that anymore. With regard to the Danajon Bank and Danajon Islet, yes the Danajon Islet, which is conterminous of barangay Dawahon, is indeed under the jurisdiction of municipality of Bato, Leyte. However, the Danajon Bank itself is actually being shared by the maritime territories of Talibon, Bien Unido and Bato. The underwater grotto is situated along the maritime territory of Bien Unido which is still a part of the Danajon Bank. By the way, I am residing in Talisay right now. I am working as an IT consultant for Abellanosa's school here in barangay Bulacao (I'm pretty sure you know what school I'm referring to). I also used to work for the LGU of Bien Unido, Bohol 3 years ago. I stayed at the Avenido, Garcia and Autida residences back then. So I humbly ask for your permission if I can make additional edits on the Bien Unido article wherever I see fit, if it's ok with you of course. After that, we're all good, I promise. I will be reinstating the barangay chart just like what you did in Panglao, Bohol. Don't worry, I will not re-add the sketch drawing though. Feel free to revert my edits if you find it "unencyclopedic and tosh". I will understand. I hope you will allow me with my simple request, please? Take care and hoping for your full recovery. Regards. ~ User:Iamtheyeishow (talk) mytime = 10:44, 17 December 2015 UTC.
- I'm on holiday (in Cebu) and internet is really slow (or dead).
- It's not my pages, it's ours.
- There's more to write than WP:NOTGUIDE. That is read only by the person why wrote. For instance, write more about Danajon bank, you probable can a paragraph or two and interesting. I can copyedit for spelling etc. if you want. PS I was IT consultant for more than 35 years.
