User talk:I lyles/Sugarcane Engenho
Good start, Isaiah. What do you mean by Engenho Effect? This term is not clear to me. Do you mean Effects of the Engenho? That sounds more clear. You might think about a section where you just describe the Engenho first: how did it compare with previous forms of production? and then the effects section can examine the economic and social consequences. Have you thought about breaking this out into economic effects and effects on slavery as an institution? I look forward to seeing how the draft develops. Also, be sure to cite specific page numbers in your citations. Cz17 (talk) 16:25, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi I lyles, it looks like this was nominated for deletion because it was seen as too similar to the article on Engenho. Offhand I can see where the concerns stem from, as this does seem to discuss the same thing. My recommendation would be to look at the existing article and see what can be merged there, as that article needs a lot of work and it would make sense to have all of the content in the same place. - To be honest, you could probably just add these to the article as they are as a quick overview shows that this is well sourced and looks to be very well written. I've added a heading for the sugarcane section, so I recommend moving this over to the main article in sections and/or in smaller chunks. To move them and keep the sourcing intact all you need to do is have both pages open in edit mode when cut/pasting the content. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:35, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
