- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "I love harambe", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is possibly disruptive given the amount of Harambe vandalism we get. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- samtar talk or stalk 10:33, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- I am not trying to vandalize Wikipedia with Harambe, just putting anything necessary related to him. There is no rule against putting a username that states that you love an animal I don't think, though correct me as I only briefly glanced at the username rules. As stated in my description, I am not trying to be obnoxious at all with the Harambe edits. For example, isn't Harambe's death important? It is not on the may 28 page, so I tried to add it. Again, not too obnoxious and I am not trying to vandalize Wikipedia. I'm fine changing my username, but I don't find anything wrong with it right now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by I love harambe (talk • contribs) 23:18, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- The point I believe samtar is trying to make is that you may not find it disruptive, but other people here might. If you do decide to change your username, you can do so at the Global Rename Request form since you have email enabled on your account. — Gestrid (talk) 02:17, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
