Double redirect on macrocytic anaemia

[edit]

Was due to me trying to direct the English to the American spelling, and doing the spelling the same way twice. Please let me know if not fixed, now. SBHarris 04:08, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Swivel Sweeper.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Swivel Sweeper.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Perfection Vacuum Cleaner

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Perfection Vacuum Cleaner, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Perfection Vacuum Cleaner. Why did you place the speedy deletion notice on the Joan Perez de Lazarraga article? Lazarraga is a major figure in the history of Basque literature, as is stated in the article.  Madler  04:31, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't answered my question. Why did you put the tag on the article?  Madler  04:39, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you tagged it because it was a poor article, lacked information, and had broken links, why was the reason for the tag stated as being that the article lacked any indication of the importance of the topic?  Madler  04:45, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did you read the third sentence? I'll quote it for you: "As a writer, he was one of the only Renaissance authors in Basque-language literature, together with Bernard Etxepare." How about the sixth sentence? "It is one of the only Basque-language texts which has reached us from the 16th century, and the oldest from the southern Basque Country." This doesn't give you an indication of the importance of the subject? The reason I'm asking is because what you did looks pretty malicious, like a kind of vandalism, and I'm considering reporting you if you can't explain why those two sentences were not enough to communicate to you the importance of the subject. If I hadn't been around to catch you on this, the article might've been deleted.  Madler  04:51, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization in article names

[edit]

You have recently renamed several pages to capitalize words that, according to Wikipedia naming conventions and the manual of style, should not be capitalized. I have moved back the following pages that you had renamed:

Please see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization), Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Lowercase second and subsequent words in titles, and Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Article titles for clarification on capital letters in article titles. Thank you. Maralia (talk) 14:11, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Freedom Tower New.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Astronaut (talk) 01:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it wasn't me who placed the speedy delete tag (that's done automatically), but I did put the notification here so you would come back to this image. I have also placed {{hangon}} on the image page for you. You might want to take a look at File talk:Freedom Tower New.jpg to see more info about an onging discussion. Astronaut (talk) 01:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Cidco MailStation, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cidco MailStation. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — Timneu22 · talk 21:23, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article WebFetch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N. None of the sources in the article establish notability, and I couldn’t find any sources that would establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
