"I do not exist"...
...when translated in Greek ("δεν υπάρχω" - "dhén ypárcho") means literally the same. Metaphorically though, it can be translated with a meaning like "I am too cool to exist"! Similarly when you tell someone "you do not exist" ("δεν υπάρχεις" - "dhén ypárchis"), it is an expression of exclaiming someone's actions (something like: "you're too good to be true!"). Since this is your username, I thought you should know! NikoSilver (T) @ (C) 12:59, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Skunk
What is it that connects Gödel's incompleteness theorems to ruling, and Elasmosaurus to worshiping? And WTF does any of these have to do with a skunk? Is it surrealistic or am I too dumb to work it out? I am very curious, so kindly give me a hint!
If you do, I'll give you the answer to this:
A mother and her daughter (aged 51 and 17 respectively) are stranded on a deserted island. After one year a black person is shipwrecked on the same island and meets them. One more year later, the mother calls the black "father", and the daughter calls him "uncle". What happened during the last year?

Featured picture nomination
Bokeh FPC
It's perfectly fine to nominate images from commons for featuring here. In fact, since FP requires free images, chances are that a nom these days is going to be on commons. You should readd your nomination, it's a good picture. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 16:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
FPC
You can certainly nominate an article for FPC whether it's uploaded to Commons or Wikipedia. Just link to it like this: Image:Josefina with Bokeh.jpg.--Pharos 16:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Mami Wata
Thanks for spotting that Mami Wata has some problems. I know that you claim on your user page to not know enough to contribute. However, what contribution requires isn't knowledge, it is research skills. If you have those, please use them on Mami Wata, cause it certainly needs it. GRBerry 16:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I came to say the same thing. I've got a ton of notes on Mami Wata that I'm currently sorting through in an attempt to replace the 75% malarkey that's there now. I'm slowly getting back into the groove of Wiki'ing after moving overseas, though, so it's been slowgoing. Any help is much appreciated. — BrianSmithson 22:17, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Mama Zogbé
I wanted to let you know that I removed your prod notice and replaced it with a {{afd1}} at Mama Zogbé. I think the article has serious problems, but it's just borderline enough for me to not feel completely comfortable letting it fall by the wayside of {{prod}}. Why did you rewrite the Ada Lovelace article?
Hi, on March 28 (yesterday), you rewrote the entire Ada Lovelace article, citing a "copyvio", AKA a copyright violation. What makes you think the article was lifted from elsewhere? Korny O'Near 13:03, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Thaks for the advice
Regarding the seven-man pyramid, your point on the use of "infamous" is well taken. Though it has certainly had the sad luck of being infamous at times, you are quite right - it is not infamous (and hopefully will never again regain that distinction).
So far as Layout and Standards goes, yah, total crap. Still working on those - very slow going.

Mocking beliefs
Please look through our civility policy and in the future please refrain from mocking other people's belief systems as you did here[2]. Wikipedia is not the place to promote your opinion about a religion. If you don't think a belief system makes sense that is fine, you can even get a blog and post about it, but not on Wikipedia. (H) 14:01, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- I was merely stating my opinion that the article in question did not adhere to NPOV. It preaches a religion. - ∅ (∅), 02:43, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- No you were making a statement about what you thought of the belief in a belittling manner. That is different than "merely stating my opinion that the article in question did not adhere to NPOV". (H) 03:18, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, people believe in the silliest things. I can't be expected to take everything up to and including Time Cube seriously. My opinion on the Urantia book is that it is just as implausible as Time Cube, but not nearly as funny. Therefore it fails even as a joke religion. However, that is my opinion on the religion itself, and not on the article, and thus has no place on Wikipedia. I apologize. Allow me to rephrase: The article reads like a pamphlet for the Urantia religion. Wikipedia can be so funny sometimes. That better? - ∅ (∅), 03:46, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- No, that isn't better. For WP:NPOV deficiencies, please bring up on the discussion page the specific shortcomings you see, to assist with good faith improvement of the article. It isn't the intent of any article to be a pamphlet but to accurately and neutrally present a topic. If you withhold your specific criticisms it doesn't improve the article and really your comments aren't for anything. Wazronk 20:14, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- It does not matter what you think, this is not the place to promote it. Do not take this warning as an invitation to do it again. (H) 00:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have been thoroughly... warned? - ∅ (∅), 00:42, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Removal of reference for dolphinarium article
I've reverted your removal of this reference in the dolphinarium article: Dolphin aggression in captivity The reason for this is simply that it is a good reference. ALL incidents on that website are sourced and thus there is no reason to believe this website wouldn't be a good reference, unless you can provide evidence otherwise. That it is hosted on geocities isn't relevant for it being a good reference or not. BabyNuke 19:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I reverted your |left there. In fact we used to have it, but we soon figured it was breaking the layout on some pages. Your additions to User:Raul654/Raul's laws
Your additions to User:Raul654/Raul's laws concerning minorities are inappropriate. Besides being inaccurate, they also paint all minorities with a broad-brush. Perhaps there's some kernel of truth to your "laws", but certainly not in its current wording. Chaz Beckett 17:43, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Dumbledore vote
Hi. All the arguing over where we should discuss Dumbledore's sexual orientation is proving useless. We need to work out just who is in favour of what and a vote seems the only way to go about it. I'm asking for your opinion since you had a say in the general argument. Thank you. asyndeton 10:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey. I think you may have misunderstood; no-one is suggesting we begin a new section, we are just suggesting which of the two, current, sections it should go in, or in both. You may want to ammend your comment as FallenAngelll is all for ignoring your vote. asyndeton 16:26, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- No, I didn't misunderstand the intent of the vote, I was just responding to certain people who were arguing for a subsection. - ∅ (∅), 17:24, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: Geriatric1927
Shall we do a deal?
I'll remove his personal details from the page again. You can add them back, but only if you also include your real name, your home phone number, your home address, and instructions on the easiest way to get to your house so that some fruitcake off the internet can come over and kick shit out of you. It is for reason of that risk that Geriatric1927 opts out of disclosing his information online, and if you wish to rob him of his right to privacy and endanger him, I see it only as fair that you do the same to yourself. Agree, yes? --Unreadablecharacters 14:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Geriatric1927 has not asked for his information to be removed from his page, and Argent009 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), whoever he is, does not have the authority to decide what goes and what doesn't go on this wiki. Until such a time as Mr. Oakley himself contacts Wikipedia, there's no reason why we shouldn't "disclose" information that the BBC has already "disclosed" and continues to disclose on their website. - ∅ (∅), 15:54, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

IfD process question
Hey there... I saw you agreed "with fire" on my first ever IfD nom! Thanks! :) Quick question: I am very familiar with the AfD process, and I expected IfD to be the same but it looks a little more lightweight. I'm guessing that's because of the huge number of orphaned/copyvio/otherwise unsuitable images you guys deal with. So... can anybody add their keep/delete !votes, just like an AfD? Most of the IfDs today are no-brainers... is it gratuitous for someone like me to go through saying, delete delete delete? Do only admins say delete/keep on IfDs?
Sorry to bug you with easy questions... Just wondering! And thanks again for concurring with my Very First Ever IfD! ;) --Jaysweet 16:15, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin either :-) Yeah, it would be sort of gratuitous as IFD defaults to deletion. I usually vote delete when I feel that someone else might disagree, though. Anyone can add their !vote, it's mostly the same as AFD. :-) - ∅ (∅), 16:23, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Albus Dumbledore edits
I've responded to your clarification regarding the 'homosexuality and pedophilia' comment by DBachmann (dab), and have written him at his page to inquire about the matter further. I would suggest that if you do not find redress for his inappropriate comments either in the Dumbledore section or in his talk page, you should absolutely bring them to the attention of the Admin noticeboard/Incidents. Dab has had a few RfC as of late, and most of them tend to focus on these seemingly unguarded phrases. Do talk to Dab, as he may very well be willing to address your concerns, but be prepared to act appropriately if he does not choose to do so. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 12:14, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I don't think I want to rock the boat. I'm just a little skunkie on a big wiki and I don't want to step on any toes... I probably shouldn't have posted my comment to begin with. - ∅ (∅), 12:19, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
No, you were right to post your umbrage at the posting, which I think consisted of Dab failing a little bit at the cleverness thing. And before you think you are too small to affect change or make a difference consider the African proverb: "If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito." if you think something is wrong, ask. If you don't like the answer, ask someone else. It's an encyclopedia that anyone can edit, not just admins and long-time users. Fire cupping - an apology
Been a bit busy of late, so this is the first opportunity I've had to apologise for thinking you were a vandal (i.e. taking User:Signpostmaker at her word that you were a vandal and undoing your reverts. I did undo my reverts as soon as I realised that your edits were in good faith and probably valid. As I keep getting requests from her for me to intervene I have put a post on her talk page explaining what she should do (I'm no administrator, nor do I know anything about the topic - I just spend a lot of my time on Wikipedia reverting vandalism and reporting serial offenders).
I thought I should let you know that I have advised her on what I think should be the right course of action. It certainly feels right to me - I really should try and find out exactly what the policy is on disputes. If my suggestion to her was wrong, could you point me in the right direction as to what the policy is?
Thanks,
