User talk:ITSOEditor
Hi. I see that you've been editing the Integrated Transport Smartcard Organisation page, which is great. However, your username suggests that you may be part of the ITSO organisation? If so, this may represent a conflict of interest. Whilst your edits look fairly controversial, editing pages for companies that you work with is generally discouraged as it's difficult to maintain a neutral point of view (see WP:NPOV). I'd recommend that you leave any suggestions on how to improve or correct the article on the article's talk page, and leave the editing to others - this is the best way of avoiding possible conflicts. The Wikipedia:Conflict of interest page has more advise and policy guidelines if you are interested. Thanks for your interest in Wikipedia though - I'm sure that there is plenty that can be improved with the article and related smartcard articles. Cheers. Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Request reason:
I am sorry if I unintentionally used the ITSO page in a manner which appeared as though it was seeking publicity. I assure you I am just trying to get the facts right and one of the first facts is that ITSO is no longer called the Integrated Transport Smartcard Organisation - simply ITSO because we have moved on from smartcards. However, It seems to be impossible just to change the page name in the interests of factual accuracy. Please advise and unblock me from editing if possible. many thanks.
Decline reason:
As noted, your userid violates our username policy as it clearly represents an organization. As you have used the word "we", you also are violating the concept that only one person may use any Wikipedia account - they cannot be shared. There are core policies you agreed to when you created your account. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:36, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
