Grammy Awards Task Force Update
<font=3>I'd like to offer an update of the Grammy Awards task force. The task force was established 3 months ago with 26 featured lists and 8 good articles. Since then, the project has increased the number of featured lists to 39 and good articles to 10, a major accomplishment for a small task force in such a short period of time! There are currently 2 Grammy-related lists at FLC (Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year and Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance), so be sure to offer feedback/comments if possible. Also, a Sources page has been set up to provide reliable sources for future use--this tool will be very helpful for finding references quickly. Keep up the great work, task force members! --Another Believer (Talk) 15:45, 7 July 2011 (UTC) |

Welcome back
Welcome back IHWIC! I'm so happy to see you back :) How are you doin'? Novice7 (talk) 07:49, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm great! Thank you. Actually, after seeing this message, I was scared that you might leave Wiki. Adding to this was the fact that you didn't edit for a few days lol. Happy to see that you're back editing :) Btw, did you get my mail? Novice7 (talk) 07:56, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- I sent the mail back in May/June... Well, I was away for 15 days too :) Wiki's really cool, imo. Some people use it to promote something or a fansite and when we question them, they just shower bad faith comments upon us. I've learned never to fall for such people and their words :) Well, welcome back, again :D I'm logging off now, so see ya around :) Novice7 (talk) 08:11, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Countdown
Please do not get me wrong. Actually i am not a native speaker of English? Did you mean it is your favorite song? Jivesh • Talk2Me 05:36, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
- I love the whole album. And you? My favorites are "I Miss You", "End of Time", "Rather Die Young", "Start Over", "Countdown", "Schooling Life" and "Dance For You". Jivesh • Talk2Me 09:52, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Put your hands up
I know you're fixing the article hence i've helped you out. My edits remove the unsourcesable and unverifiable crap from the album as well as copy editing much of the material. Though it looks like i've deleted masses from the article I've actually reinforced its notability by leaving the most verfiable and encylopedic of information. it is upon this which you should continue to add information. In your absense from editing the article it became a complete mess, the stuff within is not worthy of an article on wikipedia at all. How can you expect to build a GA upon a shaky foundation? Rather than try to source numerous unclaimed facts to produce a fluffy airy article it makes more sense to make a concise but accurate and factual article. It is possible for very small articles to become GAs (see Grown Woman for example). I actually really like the song... A LOT!" — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 20:06, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe between us we can get the article into good shape? But for the time being its best left the way i've copy edited it because it stands a chance of survival should more information not be available. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 20:15, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- The infobox label should ALWAYS be the label the artist is actually signed to... Astrelwerks has an exchange relationship with EMi whereby EMI distributes Astrelwerks outside of the US and Astreworks distributes some EMI dance/dance-pop stuff in the US. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 20:19, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well given the size of the article it might as well be mentioned. If more information is found it can be removed. I didn't realise the chart had a bubbling under LOL. It does no harm ... — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 20:40, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- Erm its titled "The Remixes" but we don't italicise things like names of singles etc. Its better to name them EP 1 / EP 2 to make it simple and easier to undertand as well as tidy things up. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 18:45, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- Doesn't make a difference because when speaking of the release you wouldn't call it "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)" - The Remixes. You would call it "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)" Remixes EP. At the end of the day, the remix EP is still a single not an album. Singles are not italicised but albums are. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 19:25, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Re: Front page template
You mean my profile page? I copied the template from another Wikipedia contributor, whose username I can no longer remember. I do love its appearance, however. I have noticed on some computers the text/numbered lists are centered, which is not my preference, though I cannot seem to determine where the code needs to be adjusted to leave the text left-justified. I would recommend copying and pasting the template into a blank page then replacing the content with your own (or is this for a WikiProject?). --Another Believer (Talk) 15:17, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Help with editor?
Would you mind helping me explain to User:Theodorerichert that his recent edits to Speak Now are unencyclopedic and innacurate? He insists on making up total sales figures for an album using two sources, one article from Dec. 16, 2010 supporting total sales up to that date, and another mid-year total for its sales up to July 2011; his revision "The album sold 2,960,000 copies in the United States in 2010<ref>http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart_watch/71209/chart-watch-extra-eminem-does-it-again/</ref> and 563,000 in 2011<ref>http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/retail/top-selling-albums-of-2011-so-far-1005267092.story</ref> for a total of 3,523,000". I've had an issue with him before, as he was not responsive and offensive ([1]), so I doubt any more messages to his talk page by me would help. I'd appreciate anything you can add to this. Dan56 (talk) 21:12, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- The quoted text is in the article's lead. Dan56 (talk) 00:10, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
- Before his edits, the lead mentioned 3,048,000 as the total figure, which was sourced in the article's "Commercial Performance" section. His changes introduced different figures into the lead. Dan56 (talk) 00:31, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

- Damn! That must really suck for her. :( But I guess it can work the same with some US acts, nobody outside the US has a clue who they are. Europe is better anyways! :P ℥nding·start 01:52, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I am technically do. ;) North American. xD I haven't really followed her career, so I don't know all this. xD As I've said before, X is probably the only album I have fully listened to. And enjoy. AND YAY! I think her main problem is now that, she didn't capitalize with the US back then, so everyone just forgot about her. I mean, she didn't come to the US until 2009. :/ Like WTF. ℥nding·start 02:06, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

- Hi i am back. I think there is something you do not know. Actually i started a sandbox before you on May 21, 2011. Jimee was working on that. When you came up with your sandbox, you told everyone to contribute on it by posting messages on the talk-pages of the participants of the Wiki project. Then i started editing your sandbox (merging the information i had put on my sandbox to avoid any conflict and so on) but quickly i lost interest as EOT release as the second single was overshadowed by the release of "1+1". Your recent revert
About this, I'm not sure whether your action there is appropriate. I see you reverted because I'm a new user. Is there any policy which forbids new users from taking part in CFD discussions? I would have thought the closing admin would have taken my history (or lack of) into account, without your blanket revert? Office of Disinformation 11:37, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

- I understand that you were acting in good faith. In my second edit, I was changing the grammar / choice of words in my post, not the reasoning behind the argument, so striking was unnecessary. It would be like striking a typo. Additionally, my argument there was not backed by policy, but by common sense. Notice that no argument in that discussion is backed by policy, because no policy covers what is being discussed there.
- I also understand that my rationale would be considered weak, but I agree completely with what Johnbod had previously written, so instead of repeating the argument, I pointed to his. Either way, a weak argument is no reason to revert the argument itself. Thank you for your prompt reply though. Office of Disinformation 11:54, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I would have thought that choice of words would fall under the definition of "grammar", but I might be wrong. Office of Disinformation 12:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Speak Now issue, talk
I opened a talk page post at Talk:Speak_Now#SYN:_Total_sales regarding the issue I talked to you about before, since another editor has addressed it the other way. Would you mind adding your thoughts on the matter? Dan56 (talk) 19:57, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
How come you guys won't even investigate my sources, they are both the billboard. This is a routine calculation. Two numbers from the same source added together dosen't violate any rules. Billboard.com=Billboard.biz. You just have to pay for most of the charts on billboard.biz and billboard.com only has a few charts some of which are just top 25 or 40 however they are identical to the charts on billboard.biz and numbers are from the same source Neilsen Soundscan. According to Neilsen Soundscan Speak Now sold 2,960,000 in 2010 http://www.billboard.com/#/news/eminem-s-recovery-is-2010-s-best-selling-1004137895.story also according Neilsen Soundscan it sold 563,000 in the first half of 2011 http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/retail/top-selling-albums-of-2011-so-far-1005267092.story so it MUST have sold at least 3,523,000 so far. How is this so hard to understand?Theodorerichert (talk) 19:26, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I will ensure that for all verifiable portions I will add the references. Note that this contribution is being enriched by getting information from various old printed material on this great legend. Can you now remove the two error banners? Thanks, Ravi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raviakula (talk • contribs) 15:19, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Look, I have added citations where applicable. some of the information are original and from source (printed material). It is impossible to cross reference every bit of info. I am sure you understand that not every information is available on the net and I am making an effort to provide information on this legend. If you dont understand, then let me know how I can delete this contribution. Thanks and have a nice day.
