Reply regarding ULTRANET
[edit]Hello Hvdc news,
Thanks for your message on my talk page.
Please don't be discouraged - I know this experience must be frustrating for you.
One of the purposes of the "Articles for Creation" project is to help people create articles that will last. Many new editors create their first article only to see it quickly deleted because they did not understand the requirements for articles correctly. AFC reviewers like me are on your side - we want your article to go live! But we also want to protect you from the negative experience of seeing it quickly deleted.
On the English Wikipedia, every topic that has an article must be notable. The way that notability is established is by showing that there has been substantial coverage of the topic in independent sources. Articles that don't show notability are usually deleted pretty quickly.
The sources in the article right now fail the second part of that test. They are mainly written and published by the companies and organizations involved in ULTRANET. That means they are not independent. They may still be useful for verifying specific facts, but they don't help establish notability.
No, the articles don't need to be in English - press coverage in German is fine, if it hasn't been covered much in English-language media. Yes, all news sources are biased - that is understood. In this situation what they say about ULTRANET isn't actually the main point - the fact that they are talking about ULTRANET at all is what establishes notability.
Again, please don't be discouraged and don't give up. If the article had two or three references to newspaper or magazine articles covering ULTRANET, in German or otherwise, I would happily approve it for publishing in article space.
Cheers,
