- But the way it's turning out the name "Irene" will most likely be retired. Something similar to this happened with the article "Hurricane Karl (2010)". It was called "Hurricane Karl" before the season was over. So why can't I do that, because somebody else did? Hurricane411 411 17:09, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Lets wait until after the storm as there is no point doing it yet as it still could dissipate and not affect the US. (not likely i know but unlike Karl but the argument being put to me is that the 1999 Irene was almost a billion dollar storm).Jason Rees (talk) 19:43, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Irene looks like the next Hurricane Bob up here in New England (where I live), and the name "Bob" was retired before the 1992 season. And about the '99 Irene, that was ALMOST a billion dollar storm. Irene this year is SURE to be at least a billion dollar storm. As a matter of fact, it might be a billion dollar storm already because of what it has done in Puerto Rico, the Turks and Caicos islands, and the Bahamas. North Carolina and new England will just add to that. Hurricane411 411 19:35, 24 August 2011 (EST)
- How do you know? The storm could be like Hurricane Earl (2010) and cause light damage ad pass further east than expected. Anyway, per WP:CRYSTAL, we should wait till it becomes ET/Dies IMO. YE Pacific Hurricane
- I know what I'm doing when I track storms. It will be a billion dollar storm all the way up the East Coast. Hurricane411 411 14:01, 25 August 2011 (EST)
- How do you know? There is still a chance, a small one indeed, but a chance that it will move more towards the east than expected. And if it becomes a billion dollar storm, that does not necessarily mean it will get retired. Let's wait till at least the damage total doubles the total of Irene 99 per WP:CRYSTAL. YE Pacific Hurricane 18:14, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- News flash. It might have done that already. Hurricane411 411 14:17, 25 August 2011 (EST)
- /Might/. We should wait till it is confirmed IMO. YE Pacific Hurricane 18:22, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- It's done it already. It has now caused >$1.1 billion. Hurricane411 411 22:37, 26 August 2011 (EST)
- I agree with you know, but don't do a copy/past move. Discussion is here Talk:Hurricane Irene (2011), so feel free to comment. YE Pacific Hurricane 00:41, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello
[edit]Why did you make these edits? You broke a reference link in the former, and removed a storm's name in the latter. --Dylan620 (I'm all ears) 22:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
The article Tropical Depression Thirteen (2011) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no indication of notability. unsourced and sounds nothing exceptional.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 17:23, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- The thing is that the article is not done yet. Hurricane411 411 17:23, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I recommend you write your article in your Sandbox or a Sub directory then you can do with it what you want and not receive all the static. Then when you are done you can move it to its permanent home. -- Phoenician Patriot (talk) 16:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- Also, I reverted my template on Talk Radio. See why here. -- Phoenician Patriot (talk) 16:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

The events are as follows:
We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.
