Welcome!

[edit]

Indeed it seems no-one has taken the effort to formally welcome you to Wikipedia, so I will instead ^^. The following links should be able to provide sufficient answers to any questions that may pop up in your mind. If they cannot, do not hesitate in asking another user on their talk page for advice/assistance. Happy editing! A Prodigy ~In Pursuit of Perfection~ 18:37, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Candy bar warnings

[edit]

Hi - I have reverted your candy bar warnings since the tone was not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Please take a look at how your contributions were modified at Twix (here) and use something similar if you want to add the information back to the other candies. Thanks -SCEhardT 01:00, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of KP Discos

[edit]

A tag has been placed on KP Discos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. AfD nomination of Smiths Twisters

[edit]

I have nominated Smiths Twisters, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Smiths Twisters. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Your articles

[edit]

Hi there. I appreciate your efforts to write articles on 70s snacks, but unfortunately a good article needs something more than half-remembered pseudo-facts. If you write articles full of phrases like "It is thought (by whom?) they were introduced..." or "it is unclear (someone must know for sure) as to how many flavours were also produced" I'm afraid they're likely to be deleted fairly quickly. Wikipedia articles need to be made up of concrete facts, ideally backed up be reliable sources. I suggest you try to find some concrete information (on a reasonably respectable website, or some magazines perhaps) and try again once you're more sure of the facts, ideally citing your sources as you write. Best regards, Iain99Balderdash and piffle 21:01, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:OR. I appreciate what you are trying to achieve, but Wikipedia is not the place to do it. An encyclopaedia collates reliable knowledge to provide a trusted source of information. The problem with including potentially incorrect knowledge - even as part of a work in progress - is that taints everything; there is no way of knowing what is reliable and what is not.

I know in the case of WP this is an ideal far from being met, but it is the objective.

Proposed deletion of Gus Chambers

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Gus Chambers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. November 2008

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Ruskin arms. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Ruskin arms

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ruskin arms, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non notable, no coverage in reliable sources

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

"Suitability for vegetarians"

[edit]

I have reverted your edits to Bounty, Twix, and Celebrations, and I also see that you were warned about these same edits two years ago. Please do not re-add that content. If those Mars products are unsuitable for vegetarians, have been for over three years at this point, and are not marked otherwise stating that are suitable (i.e., deceptive packaging), there is no reason to have an entire section in the article called "suitability for vegetarians" with the end result being "they aren't". MSJapan (talk) 18:23, 23 November 2010 (UTC) I have once again reverted the same edits. Pleas do not re-add them. MSJapan (talk) 05:00, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded - the use of rennet by the Mars company is already given in a more appropriate context at Mars_Incorporated#Criticism, we don't need to repeat it across all of their product articles. --McGeddon (talk) 10:06, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very few people realise about the content of animal rennet as it is not even implicitly stated in any form on the wrapper or anywhere else other than the obscure site you have listed. This is because there are currently no laws to label what is in food wrappers with regard to vegetarians. Clearly you both not a vegetarians and therefore do not care. Others do and have a right to explicitly know about what goes into the content of their food. It is not fair that people (such as vegetarians as well as those who are not) are not made EXPLICITLY aware of what their bodies are digesting. For example, many people do not realise about the use of crushed cochinal insects used for red food coloring as the information out there is not explicitly provided enough. I believe Mars clearly do not want the majority of people to know these contents, otherwise they would state it on their wrappers. There are currently no laws to push this into place, so they have a legal excuse. We currently therefore DO have 'deceptive packaging'. This is why I think it is important to have a wikipedia section warning people with what they WANT TO KNOW so they can decide. Isn't the idea of wikipedia to spread knowledge (for good)? I thought America was a democratic country. You are acting as gatekeepers by blocking this information (and thereby censoring) This is what happens in 'undemocratic' countries (just in a more explicit way).Do you BOTH work for wikipedia? Is wikipedia in line with with large multi-national companies? It certainly feels that way. You have made me feel very upset and angry by your actions which are as immoral / amoral as the rich large multi-nationals who are destroying this planet and exploiting people (down to even those who eat chocolate bars). Morals should come into play with wikipedia. Theres always an excuse for this behaviour, i.e. things not fitting nicely into categories for some (regardless of others views and feelings). I'm certain there are many, many people who would agree with me and back me up on this issue who are not in power and do not have your control. Future history can be re-written one way or the other. Its your choice. I suggest you both ask yourselves as to who YOU are, what YOU are about or more importantly what YOU want to be as individuals. Through wikipedia you have been given this power which affects many peoples lives. Please use it wisely, accurately and for the good, otherwise who or what (merely) are you? I am so angry and upset.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rock'n Rollers COFc.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. sumone10154(talkcontribs) 16:39, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
