is closed. User is clearly a WP:sock puppet and, if the unverified UTRS ticket is from them, is an undeclared paid editor. Paid editing is not against the rules if the user reads and heeds WP:PAID. If this is actually the same person as the sock master, user should request unblocking on that account. In any event, user will not be unblocked to make promotional edits. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:04, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- How do I give proof that I am not a sock puppet? Is there a way for me to retrieve my account back? Hstakast (talk) 03:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
Appeal to Unblock Account

Request reason:
I previously created a account to create an article, and I didn't realize it was prohibited to upload the same article with multiple accounts. It was my mistake not reading the Wikipedia guidelines beforehand. I have read the guidelines on editing and creating articles as well as on how to respond to blocked and deleted articles. If my account is given the second chance, I would like to use this experience to educate myself and others on Wikipedia guidelines as well as contribute and edit articles on Korean content.
Decline reason:
No thanks. Nothing here convinces me you'd contribute appropriately. It looks like you simply plan to continue spamming articles on Korean scientists. Yamla (talk) 10:38, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I have read articles on writing biographies, on what conflict of interest means, on paid contributions, and on how to edit sources as well. I understand I had previously written the same article from a different account and posted the same article through a new account, not realizing this was prohibited and was enough reason to get my account blocked. I respectfully request to unblock my account, as I will now take more caution in posting not only about scientists but other topics. I also take this opportunity to say that I am not in any way related to the people I'm posting about and I will follow the guidelines to make sure I comply with the paid contributions guidelines. Please kindly reconsider my request.Hstakast (talk) 10:14, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

You will not be unblocked to make promotional edits. I am not convinced you are not a paid editor. I am declining your request. PhilKnight (talk) 13:04, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
I recently joined an event-planning startup in Korea which organizes domestic and international conferences in the medical and scientific fields. There are 4 of us in the company, and I was recruited as the translator/interpreter as no one else speaks English in the company. Then during one of our events, I read a scientific journal introducing world-renowned scientists, and I proposed an idea to the company to post articles about a few scientists, as I didn't seem to find any Wikipedia page on them despite their contributions. My boss thought it was a good idea and I created an account under the name KJ커뮤니케이션, to represent our company and posted 2 articles, which I researched and gathered information from Korean websites and articles. It was rejected due to a conflict of interest, in which an admin stated it lacked objectivity. I did not quite understand and I had not read the guidelines until then. I proceeded to open my personal account and upload the same article, not knowing this was a violation of role accounts, sockpuppetry, paid contribution, and lacking in objective posts. I wanted to delete the KJ account because I created it in my current company while having a personal account, but I learned it was forbidden due to license issues, so I read the whole guidelines and asked the English Wikipedia Help Community as well. I fully disclose that this is a paid contribution, and my employer is the CEO of a event-planning startup in Korea. I regret committing sockputtery, posting the same articles from different accounts, but neither of the accounts I'm holding were role accounts. I am the only one with access, and it will remain so. I kindly request that my request to unblock my account be reviewed. Hstakast (talk) 09:04, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Admitting you are a paid editor is a start, but we still won't unblock you to make promotional edits. 331dot (talk) 09:27, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
