I am one of the original Stratus VOS developers and still work on the operating system. Most of this is from memory, but I guess you could call me a primary source. Unfortunately, the Status overview documentation for VOS is so out of date that I was afraid links to it would be misleading. They have lots of documentation on the details, but the overview documentation still talks about hardware that's been obsolete for 20 years.

I tried to keep this objective, but I've been involved in the subject for so long that it's hard to look at it from afar. Feel free to yell at me (or just correct it) if I messed up.

"The 99.999% uptime figure is accurate -- Unlike other venders, Stratus upt" ... "So, I agree with the edit, because the 5 9's uptime claim was out of place, not because it was inaccurate or because it was an advertisement.". - Thanks for the quick reply. I accept what you are saying, and take back the initial suspicion I had. I would not mind seeing 99.99% as long as it is cited correctly. Even then, it still would be recommended that the whole paragraph would be better off if it gets straight to the point on what makes it reliable, rather than spouting off numbers... On the other hand, it could depend on the audience as well... (laymens? or engineers?) . Anyhow regardless, I appreciate your reply, and wish you the best in making the article as accurate and unbiased as possible . 27.32.203.93 (talk) 17:05, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
