AfD nomination of Howard Schwartz (broadcaster)
[edit]I have nominated Howard Schwartz (broadcaster), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Howard Schwartz (broadcaster). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. BJTalk 23:32, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Regarding your article
[edit]Hi Howard. Just to let you know, I have deleted your article and userpage again. I'm not sure if you realise what is going on, but your article was deleted as a result of a community discussion at - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Howard Schwartz (broadcaster). This discussion determined that your bio does not meet Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and thus should be deleted. The way to overturn this isn't to simply come back and repost the pages again and if that keeps happening we will have to protect the pages from recreation and you could actually end up with your account blocked (especially when you have made no edits to other subjects as people who don't otherwise contribute to Wikipedia and only come here to write about themselves are often seen by many editors as attempting to misuse Wikipedia for vanity and self-promotional purposes). Rather, if you feel that a mistake has been made at the articles for deletion (AFD) discussion, you will need ask for a deletion review where the community will re-consider the original discussion and determine whether a mistake has been made or not. The rationale for deletion at the AFD hinged on the issue of your notability and whether or not you pass Wikipedia's notability guideline which is set out at Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (people). If you take a look at those pages and feel that you pass them, the next thing to do is to compile a list of verifiable sources which meet the reliable sources guideline and the verifiability policy. You will need to be able to present evidence of significant coverage (ie where you are the subject and not just the author of an article or just mentioned in passing) in multiple, reliable, third-party and independent, published sources. Please also note that Wikipedia only reports what reliable sources have already published and does not engage in any original research or original reporting and thus everything in the article must be able to be sourced properly to published sources and not just based on personal knowledge. Please also have a look at the Autobiography and COI guidelines. The Wikipedia community strongly discourages people from writing about themselves and subjects close to them.
