Smartours article
[edit]I noticed that you're in the process of writing an article. The best place for writing an article is your sandbox, which you can find here. If an article is in the sandbox, then other users know it is in the process of being written, and so won't interfere with it. Once you add it to the article page Smartours, then it has to comply with Wikipedia standards. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:29, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of SmarTours
[edit]Hello Howardjacobsen123,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged SmarTours for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 16:48, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

We are an international tour operator who contributes to many news sites and publications and is very important within the travel industry, does this not warrant importance?

[edit]The article has not been deleted yet; it has only been tagged for deletion. If you disagree, you should click on the button that says "contest this speedy deletion." When you do, please remember to sign your post by typing four tildes (~~~~). (You didn't do this when you left a message on my page, so I had to look you up in the history and come here to reply.)
If smartours is "very important" to the travel industry, then there should be significant press coverage -- not just the list of directories, press releases and in-passing references you list. You need to be able to pass the general notability guidelines and I don't think smartours meets these.
Also, you have a conflict of interest — you are the company's vice-president. It is against Wikipedia policy for you to be creating this article, and it gives it the appearance of being promotional. If smartours was truly notable, you would not need to write your own article. ubiquity (talk) 17:09, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Hello, Howardjacobsen123,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether SmarTours should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SmarTours .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks, ubiquity (talk) 14:28, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
