God of War FAC

God of War is up for FAC again if you could voice your support again. Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/God of War (video game)/archive3 --JDC808 04:50, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Notifying you that God of War (video game) is up for FAC again. Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/God of War (video game)/archive4--JDC808 20:39, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

There seems to be a lack of interest for the God of War: Ghost of Sparta FAC. Would you care to leave some comments? --JDC808 03:01, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Metroid: Other M, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Escapist. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Preview Button Advice

Thank you for telling me about the Preview Button it save me a lot trouble. -LaytonPuzzle27 — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaytonPuzzle27 (talkcontribs) 16:49, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Release date changes

Thanks for your edits, but please desist from changing between {{Video game release}} templates unless there is some reason for systemically converting them (and if there is, there should be consensus for a batch edit before acting unilaterally across so many articles). czar 23:12, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Be careful on date format updates

[1] While I certainly won't contest this change because I do prefer mdy or dmy dates better, be aware that this type of change runs foul of WP:DATERET since the citation dates (which do not have to match with prose dates) were all ISO/yyyymmdd format for the most part, which would have been considered the default format for the page. Such changes you should seek talk page consensus for to switch over before doing that type of change, and there are some that get upset when you make these types of changes without consensus. --MASEM (t) 16:14, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

@Masem: I read your message and didn't know about this, so I self-reverted the edit. Sorry about that. -- Hounder4 17:08, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
No worries - it was mostly a caution that other editors might get upset on that. --MASEM (t) 01:49, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

WP:VG

Hey, I saw your comment at WP:VG. I hope you weren't discouraged or offended by any of the comments I've made to you. Anything I've said was merely to help or inform you, I never meant to discourage you. I've seen your work here and there, and have always thought if you as a good editor. I hope you'll reconsider taking too long of a break, though then again, as I always tell people, considering this is a volunteer project, one of your top priorities really has to be enjoying yourself, or it's not really worth doing. So it's good to put your happiness first - don't force things.

Anyways, best wishes. Sergecross73 msg me 02:37, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

@Sergecross73: No need to worry. It's been an honour for me to volunteer with WP:VG, and I'm not offended of what you said. I'll hopefully be back in a month or so. Cheers. – // Hounder4 // 03:01, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
Hi there. I know we haven't done much in the way of editing together, but I thought I'd drop you a note too. I know you said you're not in a good mood—and by all means, taking a break from Wikipedia is a good idea if you think it'll help—but it is definitely not true that you're "not really good at anything here". I have a few of the Metroid articles on my watchlist and I've seen all the work you do keeping them in good shape. You are absolutely a valued contributor. I hope the wikibreak helps with your mindset and happiness. Like Serge said, those should always come first. All the best. —zziccardi (talk) 03:02, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Your changes on the WonderSwan article

Could you please revert your revert ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=WonderSwan&oldid=751442220 )? Retro Gamer issue 36 is not a something I could call a reference, especially about the WonderSwan. And you reverted changes that was correcting some big confusion in this article (Kilo-bits versus Kilo bytes, they are NOT the same thing). So if there is no link between the WonderWave and the PocketStation why do you think there is THIS picture in the same article: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WonderSwan-WonderWave-PocketStation.jpg ? If you want to know more, instead of reading some obscure magasin that are not competent on everything (especially the WonderSwan), read more sources like the japanese wikipedia entry about the WonderWave: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ワンダーウェーブ or do a quick google search and find that article from IGN back in 1999 that clearly tell about "via pocket station": http://www.ign.com/articles/1999/09/21/tgs-wonderswans-playstation-2-connection. So please revert your revert, and next time search a bit more, and ask before doing such a revert if you have any doubts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.72.63.96 (talk) 14:22, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

@86.72.63.96: Thank you for your comment. I would revert my revert as promised, but unfortunately this can't be done. If you look at the WonderSwan article history, after the edit you've mentioned, I made a subsequent edit where I added a source from Nintendo Life and rewrote the WonderWave part in that edit. I'm already aware that the PocketStation is a PlayStation accessory. Also, the Japanese Wikipedia, alongside Wikipedias in any other language, is obviously a wiki and can't be used as a source per WP:VG/S. The next time you add new messages to someone concerning on their edits, you should look at the page history for an article before doing so. Thanks. – Hounder4 16:38, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Resident Evil 5 FAC

Hello Hounder. We both often edit Metroid and Resident Evil-related articles on Wikipedia. I was wondering if you could lend us a helping hand by reviewing the Resident Evil 5 article, which has been nominated for featured-article status. We would appreciate any comments/suggestions regarding the article's contents. You can submit them here. Thank you for your time and have a great day, --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  23:08, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

AM2R updates

Hi i'm the guy who posted about the unofficial updates for AM2R, you deleted the link because Reddit cannot be used as a source, but that's the only one i could post. The other source was from the AM2R forum itself but sadly it's on FreeForums and that site, for some unknown reason, is not allowed here. I would like to report about the newest updates like i did for the English translation of a certain PSP game who met the same fate but was eventually recovered and continued until it was finished. Kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.56.4.166 (talk) 20:00, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

See Talk:AM2R#Updates. Reddit can't be used as a source; the threads there can be posted by anyone. Fan updates should not be added to the article unless they've gained significant attention by reliable sources like IGN, Eurogamer, Polygon etc. – Hounder4 20:35, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

About Sonic The Hedgehog sales

Even if VGChartz site is not considered a reliable source, it still doesn't negate the fact that the source (Youtube fan video), that is used in the article, isn't trusted for. If you have the opportunity, please, provide a reliable source, confirming the number of Sonic the Hedgehog copies sold in 15 million. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.187.17.5 (talk) 19:23, 13 May 2018‎ (UTC)

FYI, a YouTube video you're referring to is a retrospective video from the GameTap's YouTube channel and not a fan video. You should discuss on the actual sales at Talk:Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game). – Hounder4 19:59, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for cleaning up after me when I copyedit. I often leave typos or missing pieces when I'm rewriting. Takes another set of eyes to spot them sometimes. Popcornduff (talk) 14:06, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Hey there. I was looking through articles and stumbled across Kileak. Have you thought about nominating it for GAN? GamerPro64 06:00, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

@GamerPro64: No, I'm afraid not. Sorry. – Hounder4 19:47, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Huh?

Wait how can consoles be abbreviated per documentation? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 23:23, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

@Benjaminkirsc: Per Template:Infobox video game/doc#released: "Platforms can be abbreviated to fit in one line and should be listed as bolded section titles without colons, separated with commas (e.g., PS4, 3DS, PC)." For a release date of multiple versions, platforms name can be shortened to fit in one line. For a release date of a single version, we use a full console name. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to open a discussion at Template talk:Infobox video game or at WT:VG. Thanks. – Hounder4 02:03, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
