A tag has been placed on (UMBC) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Chris (talk) 20:53, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
UMBC is the short form for University of Maryland, Baltimore County. This notation is commonly used to distinguish it from 4 other campuses of the University of Maryland. The term UMBC is well recognized not only within Maryland but also all over United States. Even the official road signs on interstates refer to the campus simply as UMBC. Please do not delete this entry, instead may simply want to incorporate it into the main entry shown above.

[edit]Hello, I'd like to know, are you in any way related to Ramachandra S. Hosmane or Narayan Hosmane ? - Amog | Talk • contribs 15:20, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please answer the question - Amog | Talk • contribs 18:29, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I am Ramachandra S. Hosmane, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Maryland, and am indeed the older brother of Narayan Hosmane, Professor of Chemistry, Northern Illinois University.
- Okay, professor. We have a slight problem here. This article has a COI ( Conflict of interest ). Please read WP:AUTO before you continue to edit the article. Thank you - Amog | Talk • contribs 05:44, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I was not even aware that there existed a Wikipedia entry on me until someone else pointed out to me. As a matter of fact, I have only corrected some factual errors and toned down the words such as "remarkable" to simply "notable". Most of the stuff was already there! There is no exaggeration or self-aggrandization of any kind! To be honest, I would not mind at all if the entry is taken out of Wikipedia. Thanks for pointing out the COI. I will no longer touch it.
- Thank you for being reasonable. Edits like this do cause a COI and end up in edit wars. It's best to leave the article to someone else - Amog | Talk • contribs 07:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:Ram JPN.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ram JPN.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:39, 22 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 20:39, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
This picture was created by me! It is one of the pictures in my personal collection. Please do the necessarty to correct this inadvertent error. Thanks.
- To prevent your pictures from being deleted:
- remove the {{di-no source|date=22 June 2008}} & add this to the bottom of the page:
- == Licensing ==
- {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}
- To prevent your pictures from being deleted:
I have no clue how to do this. How could I access the image file to do this? Please help!
OK. I got it! I believe I have successfully completed it. That is it! No more touching or editing of this entry by me! I will instead contact you if I have any questions. The only thing I do not know at this time is what do you mean by external links. Should I give you my professional references where I have published my work on Artificial blood, cancers, and viruses HBV, HCV, HIV, etc. A lot of my recent references can indeed be linked to my personal website <http://userpages.umbc.edu/~hosmane>. Please let me know. Thanks. -Ram Hosmane

Hos$2mane (talk) 21:13, 25 June 2008 (UTC) I have put the necessary citations under my userpage. Am I supposed to put it here instead?
- Please note that what I mentioned above will not solve the image issue, and you are going to have to give information on the source of the image to prevent it from being deleted. - Amog | Talk • contribs 12:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
