Hello, I'm AntiDionysius. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Afro-textured hair, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. AntiDionysius (talk) 23:05, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]The text you added to the Culture of Haiti article include passages that were copied directly from your sources. This was detected by automatic plagiarism detection software. For copyright reasons, this contribution had to be deleted. Remember that additions to Wikipedia need to be written entirely in your own words.

2010 Haiti earthquake article selection
[edit]Hi @Hortur0, I noticed that you assigned yourself the 2010 Haiti earthquake article to improve as part of your assignment. I wanted to let you know that this article is a Good Article, which means that it is among Wikipedia's best work. While there might be room to make a few small improvements to Good Articles, they are going to be more complete, overall, and harder to work on as your first major contribution to Wikipedia. For that reason, I recommend that you pick a different article to work on - one that has scope for improvement. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Looping in @Bolibenj. This is the second time you have been warned about this unacceptable type of edit. Do it again and you will be blocked from editing altogether. DMacks (talk) 22:06, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Your edit to Parkinson's disease needs changing

- @SandyGeorgia I see we agree that source is reliable but was used incorrectly to suggest it is a problem with all people with PD. Doug Weller talk 09:06, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
November 2023 2
[edit]@Brianda (Wiki Ed), Ian (Wiki Ed), Doug Weller, DMacks, and Bolibenj: you'll need admin tools to see one of these edits, which is oversighted rev del'd, and there are two copyright notices above. I suspect that if a non-student editor made edits like this, they'd be blocked; perhaps a word to the wise ? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:44, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Aren't those three edits (quibble: rev-del'ed not oversighted) prior to my copyvio-final warning, meaning (ideally) they took the warning to heart? Obviously I'm willing to take admin action if needed, I just am not understanding what basis you are seeing. DMacks (talk) 04:52, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- DMacks Yes, rev-del'd (corrected above). Yes, the three edits are before the copyvio warning, but since I can't see the rev-del'd edit, I can't tell if it was also racist as the Kinky hair edit. So a mention to this new editor that racists posts aren't welcome on Wikipedia, and in non-student editing cases, usually lead to pretty quick blocks, even more so if also combined with other policy violations like copyright, seems to be in order (depending on what is in the rev-del'd post). Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:14, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- @DMacks@SandyGeorgia loook at the filter log. Full of “ RS linked through proxy” whatever that means. The rev/del edit is unsourced but I haven’t checked for copyvio, will after breakfast. Doug Weller talk 07:09, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yep, it was copyvio. So 17 entries in the filter log relating to sources, the last one on the 3rd. Doug Weller talk 08:27, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- OK, if there was no racism, then my concerns are addressed. Thx! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:43, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- "RS linked through proxy" means a ref URL pointing to something like ebscohost that is a campus subscription database rather than the actual source. DMacks (talk) 18:11, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ah ha (thanks); I fixed one of those at Parkinson's disease that got through. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:20, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- @DMacksThanks for the explanation. Doug Weller talk 19:10, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks @DMacks, @Doug Weller and @SandyGeorgia. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:23, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
